Fortunately, it wasn’t an emergency, however it was great knowing that they would respond quickly if we needed them. Carlos diagnosed that the thermostat wasn’t working properly and needed a replacement. Fortunately, we had just purchased a Google Nest. Carlos quickly installed and configured it for our heat pump. He confirmed everything was working properly. Thank you Timo’s and Carlos for all the help.
- CMCheryl McFaddenDec 21, 20251.0During my semi-annual maintenance I was told by the technician that the system was very dirty and in order to avoid possible damage to the system it should be thoroughly cleaned. I was told it would take an hour or more for each unit (3), but it would involve dismantling the units. They said this service is normally $500 per unit, but because of the holiday season they will only charge me $380. The technician arrived on the scheduled day and set about cleaning each unit. It took about 30 minutes for each unit and I only saw them remove the front panel…not the extensive dismantling I was expecting. There were no repairs nor parts needed. They charged me $1100. That works out to about $700 and hour for a service charge. I challenged the technician and was told the charge was due to time, chemicals, inspections. I called the manager the next day and was pretty much told the same thing. I don’t know how they can justify $1100. They installed the system about six years ago…or so, and I’ve been happy with them until now. If the systems were so dirty, what exactly were they doing during the maintenance visits. Now I no longer trust them. Kind of sad.
