  I had Edgar as my rep today for the regular maintenance of my furnace and air conditioner. He was very professional and efficient plus explained details of an air filtration system that i might purchase. Gratefully, Edgar pointed out a water leak in the garage and called General to have Tony inspect the problem.

  This company doesn’t feel trustworthy. We used them for about two years to install a new system and then used their maintenance plan. On their last visit we were told that there were several error codes popping up on our system that isn’t even 2 years old (again that they installed). They never actually addressed the problem and instead were pushing us to install new duct work and insulation that they priced at over $16k for our tiny, 1200 sq ft home. When we asked is this was related to the error codes or if this would actually fix the problem we called them for, they didn’t have a straight answer. They just kept pushing the $16k job. It didn’t feel right and we had another technician from a different companycome in and check the error codes. They did a routine check-up and cleaned up some things and all error codes went away and the noise we were hearing stopped. The technician did say that insulation and duct work were a good idea to help the ac run more efficiently, but was in no way related to the error codes it was showing.

  Great workers, neat, polite, and on time. The problem is the pricing. They charge you a service charge which all companies do and they quote you a price and then when you get the bill they add almost $16 for the truck for the gas and for the driver. So I wonder what the service charge is for? They say it's to come to your house but then they add these other fees to come to your house which they don't tell you about until you get the final bill. That's deceptive on the company's part. Has nothing to do with the workers and their knowledge, they were terrific. I'm almost 80 yrs old n my pilot light went out and just to relight it cost me well over $180 when it was said and done.

  Had a tankless water heater installed yesterday afternoon. Smelled a faint odor of gas this morning and called The General with my concerns. A tech came out, found a bolt that needed tightening to stop the leak. Problem solved. Very appreciative to Clifton for his expertise. In addition, I had other services performed and had a lot of problems. Again, Clifton and Anthony made the “repairs” on the services rendered incorrectly, which I appreciate. I am not going into those problems here. All I can say is make sure you have a senior tech from this company, stand your ground when things are done incorrectly and “buyers beware”!
