  They dont actually collect the garbage so much as spread it all-over our streets. Petra who answers the phone is not at all interested in helping, she mostly just blames you for the trash collectors not doing their job.

  I honestly don’t know how anyone could have a difficult experience with our refuse company here in South Lake Tahoe—they’re simply the best. Every time I visit, the team is polite, friendly, helpful, and just genuinely great people. You can tell they enjoy working with each other and take pride in serving the public. Having worked with the public myself for over 20 years, I truly appreciate that kind of professionalism. Special thanks to Patty Alexander—she absolutely deserves recognition for all she does with the dumpsters. Thank you, Patty, and thank you to everyone at STR for your continued service to our community.

  We are fortunate to have the finest garbage service anywhere. They go the extra mile to make sure customers are satisfied. From owners to front line employees they are the best. Nobody understands that if a big company came in rather than STR we would be treated horribly. They are the first to step up and donate to any one who needs it.

  Tahoe Refuse has no competition, therefore they run eminent domain on the public. Tahoe Refuse is distinctly connected to Clean Tahoe program, an entity that acts as GOD. Clean Tahoe trucks drive all over Tahoe, (the city, not county) to glean funds off local residents. They take/collect anything off residential property, without a warrant or court order. They give no notice, they just take pictures and bill landlords for whatever their tenants are doing. If you wonder where the extra charge on your account is, you can call them, they give you the run around, even gave me numbers to the police office, who of course had no knowledge about what I was complaining about. They are thieves, I wish I had power as a 28 year resident to sue them, they keep billing me for a mattress that my tenants were in the process of moving, (3 days) waiting for a truck. Clean Tahoe just took a pic and billed me, the landlord. I don't keep tabs on my tenants, do you? Am I responsible for what tenants are doing? Don't they even deserve 30 day notice? No, of course not, "Clean Tahoe" is an entity created by our lovely city, but entirely billed and backed by Tahoe Refuse who is immune to justice. Enjoy your bill landlords, don't expect any notice, just pay, pay, pay....
