  I highly recommend Poor Boy Electric and Lighting. From replacing malfunctioning dimmers with easy to use switches to updating our home with new combo carbon monoxide/smoke detectors to illuminating our dimly lit reading areas with state of the art track lighting, Erik and Kyle combine technical expertise with wonderful customer service.

  We wanted to change several wall receptacles in the kitchen to another color. Found the correct breakers and shut them off, installed the outlets, and being DIY, followed the existing wire connections when connecting the new outlets. Everything worked. Later that evening, I discovered outlets in both bathrooms didn't work. Checked and switched all the breakers off/on, no joy. The next day, on a friends recommendation, I called PoorBoy. Erick returned my call that day, having a call returned is a major plus in my experience. Erick explained he would do everything he could to troubleshoot this over the phone, saving me a service call if possible, major plus #2. We gave it a try and I could not resolve the problem, I set up a service appointment. On arrival, Erick and Kyle reviewed what I had done, check outlets and breakers and set about looking for a ground fault interrupter upstream from the bathrooms, something he had suggested on the phone. and I had done. Bone head me, there was a tripped interrupter I didn't see behind a bathroom towel. Pushed reset and problem solved. During their review, they did note that a couple of circuits had been mislabeled at the breaker and corrected the labels. I recommend PoorBoy Electrical without reservation, they communicate with you, on time, knowledgeable and professional. I am having them back to wall mount my tv and surround speakers. Excellent work!

  I highly recommend Poor Boy Electric. First off they are both very friendly and easy to talk with, I didn't feel like I was ever being upsold on anything and instead they helped to find the best and most affordable alternatives. I had them do some home audio and electrical for new load in my house. For the home audio, they tried to find the least impactful way of completing the job and did an excellent job and ended up not needing any additional drywall repair or painting. They were very knowledgeable which helped me figure out a good route on the best surround system setup to go with. For the electrical they ran four circuits for a future aquarium upgrade, they suggested the cleanest option for future resale. Both items were knocked out in two appointments and they were very responsive and accommodating. The pricing was fair and came in just under what they estimated. I will definitely be using them again for future work.

  Very helpful service. Didn't end up going with them as our project was quite small and didn't make sense for the cost. However, Erik was very helpful, honest, understanding, and friendly.

  Reliable, honest, tech savvy, current trends in digital lighting options. Erik prides himself by calling, texting or emailing you back if you ask him a question. He also actually uses a calendar so YOU know when your project will begin and end. I would hire him again without a doubt.
