As if icing on the cake (not a tasty one), the final piece of our recent water line/leak issues was discovered this morning by our water conditioning service guy, since the unit had been leaking out the drain valve 24/7. (Rewind, we had a leak in our main line to the house, which ended being two leaks.....landscaper able to fix....and thought all was well...but back to today).....Conditioning dude checks our water pressure coming in the main, and is like "whoa man, it's 150psi, that's double what it's supposed to be" [I later google it....wow...it's really not a good situation] (And, wow, what had been leaking out and for how long prior to the main line leak repair????). He said "you need a plumber, like ASAP or it could start blowing things up". I was stoked with the higher "post repair" pressure, but it was a "little" much, shower was a bit stingy, and just had that back of mind feeling things weren't all rosy. So on cue, I reached out to Jeff at Swell, sent him a picture of the Pressure Regulator that needed to be replaced. He talked me through how I could possibly fix it myself (who does that? such a cool first step)....but me knowing my track record, this was gonna have to be a professional's job. So I asked him if they could come out, and boom, he confirmed my info, and estimated later in the afternoon. Then I got a text estimating much earlier (stoked), and Cole from Swell showed up right within the estimated time, with the new part in hand, and was VERY patient with me while I asked very esoteric and uninformed questions....and took the time to explain how everything really worked with the water flow (as opposed to the fantasy in my head). The replacement was done in less than 10 minutes, my endless questions took a bit longer, and Cole was super informed and knowledgeable. Offered up some great suggestions, and then that was that. Parts at cost, and a very fair labor charge for the service call. All in all, one of the best experiences with a plumbing company, and will be my first call for any future needs. Great job Jeff, you have built a solid company. Highly recommend!!! (And if you're curious about the shower, pressure is still high, because somehow when I installed it, I managed to wrestle out the flow restrictor...so it's a win win!). No drippy drip, no stinging showers, and the possibility of something else "caving to the pressure" diminished significantly. Amen.
