- RLRichard Lepke3 days ago1.0I had an unfortunate customer experience with Daniel at Prestige floors. I had three specific boards damaged and described the situation thoroughly over the phone. Daniel came out to scope the work and he was pleasant. He said they could fix this in a couple of ways. He presented an option to refinish the broader areas around those boards, or do something lighter touch and just replace the board at lower cost. I thought either could be viable. I asked him for a quote for both scopes of work, and he promised to follow up with me the next day. After several days I hadn't heard so I followed up. Daniel seemed to have totally forgotten about meeting me or the job (and confused me with another customer). This happens, no big deal, so I reminded him about the quote. After a few more days, he came back with a quote for the larger scope, which I felt was a bit on the higher side to address this relatively minor issue. So, I asked for the lower cost option, and I could tell he wasn't enthusiastic about this despite proposing this as an option. He mentioned another worker would come out to scope the work. But I didn't hear back for another whole week and was never called. When I called back again, it was clear Daniel had completely forgotten about the job once again. He said he'd send Alfonso to scope the work, but said they likely weren't interested in the job because it wasn't lucrative enough. He later texted me saying they wouldn't do the job. So basically he wasted weeks of time for nothing after committing to do the work. He later told me the job was too risky, which makes no sense. I was happy to compensate them fairly for labor and materials. If they had just said no sooner, that would have been fine. I don't appreciate how this was handled.

A crew of 2 came out and one person did repairs while the other began sanding. Once sanding and patching were done, we were offered several options to choose from for the polyurethane coating. (We wanted to keep a natural wood look without stain) The tradesmen were communicative and worked with our schedule. Overall this was a great experience and we are very pleased that we didn’t try to take this task on ourselves, leaving it to the professionals. I’ve added pics of before and after heater vent repair, options we were given for finishes and a general final product picture.
