- JMJ McLovinDec 6, 20251.0I'm a manager for a subcontracted delivery carrier through FedEx. I recently had a delivery to this business and had a terrible experience when delivering there. Its the holidays and we are already stressed and trying to move as quickly as we can to make it through our day. I was training one of my new hires and this was our 3rd delivery to start the day. Anytime we deliver to a business we are required to obtain a first initial and full last name of whoever is signing for the package. When I asked their receptionist for her last name, she responded that she doesn't "give out" her last name. So I told her I have to get a valid last name for the delivery after she rudely questioned why we were asking for it. Then she instructed me to walk down their hallway to find someone else willing to provide a name. So I quickly start moving to find someone else. I see the first guy and he's on the phone, so I skip him and keep walking. The 2nd guy I find is also on the phone, but he makes eye contact with me and I figured it would be easy enough to politely ask him for a name for the delivery. Suddenly he scolds us and says "what are you guys doing back here? You aren't supposed to be back here!" Then condescendingly said "I'm on the phone". I did my research and found out he's either the owner or the owner's son. He needs to be a better person and learn how to treat people. It was very upsetting to be treated that way by someone who thinks they are superior to people that they think are beneath them.
