  We decided to have a Generac generator installed and researched several companies in our area. We contacted Howell Electric after reading their reviews and seeing their truck in our neighbourhood. Renee responded right away and Dean came over within days to conduct an assessment of what we needed, explained options and gave details on what would be involved with the install as well as giving us a quote. All of our questions were answered promptly - Renee is fantastic to deal with, she has impeccable customer service skills. The installation went great, Darren and his co worker arrived on time and worked all day , Ontario Hydro arrived as planned to turn the power off /on and Enbridge Gas came to install the new meter. He was also excellent and checked all the gas appliances to ensure they all worked after the new meter went on. Darren explained specifics of the generator and Renee completed all the paperwork for the warranty and also for downloading the Generac app. We were very happy with the excellent customer service from start to finish. We recently had Howell Electric back to install a surge protector on our electrical panel and Ian was great. He was very professional and explained how it works and what to look for etc. I will use Howell Electric for any future electrical needs in our home.

  This year, we elected to have a Generac generator installed and reached out to several companies in the Kemptville area. D.R. Howell responded promptly, and we scheduled a site visit and quotation. We appreciated that Dean Howell, the owner, conducted the inspection personally, addressing our requests and concerns and providing detailed options for generator placement. Upon agreeing on an option, an installation date was set. Subsequently, Renee informed us of a cancellation, allowing them to complete the installation ahead of schedule. The installation crew arrived punctually and worked consistently throughout the day. The propane hookup was expertly managed by the owner of Smith Falls Pipe Fitting. Communication with the installers regarding progress and procedures was clear and concise. Multiple entities—including Hydro One, Howell Electric, the propane pipe fitter, and the ESA inspector—coordinated seamlessly, demonstrating strong teamwork. The installation was finished earlier than anticipated. While awaiting Hydro One's reconnection, the electrician thoroughly explained the generator's operation and maintenance expectations. Overall, both the installation and office teams were knowledgeable and courteous, ensuring the process was efficient and pleasant. Renee handled all paperwork and account setup, warranty submission, and documentation, eliminating confusion. D.R. Howell will monitor the generator and advise on maintenance as needed.
