I had a great experience with Drain Squad and their plumber, Giulian. I’m very happy with the service they provided.
They performed a thorough drain camera inspection and gave me a clear and accurate diagnosis of the problem, along with the proper solution. Most importantly, they discovered that the section of the drain affected by root intrusion was actually on the city side, something other plumbers had overlooked.
Their service was fast, professional, and knowledgeable. I really appreciated that they took the time to properly investigate the issue rather than simply recommending unnecessary work.
Highly recommend Drain Squad and Giukian for honest, professional, and reliable drain service!
Giulian from Sewer Squad Plumbing Co. came out today to inspect a blocked underground downspout drain, and I was extremely impressed with the service.
He arrived right on time and came fully prepared with all the necessary equipment, including a camera and drain snake. He took the time to inspect the issue properly and tried the appropriate measures before recommending any additional work.
Their inspection cost was also significantly lower than the quotes we received from other companies.
What I appreciated most was Giulian's approach to solving the problem. He explained several options clearly and recommended starting with the less aggressive and less expensive solution first. If that doesn't work, we can move to the more extensive option, and the cost of the first service will be credited toward the second. This makes a lot of sense and gives you an opportunity to solve the problem without immediately paying for unnecessary work.
Professional, punctual, well-equipped, transparent about pricing, and focused on finding the right solution rather than simply selling the most expensive one.
Excellent experience with Giulian and Sewer Squad. Very happy with the service and would definitely recommend them. Five stars!

I am absolutely blown away by this company’s level of professionalism, knowledge and customer service!! From the very first call, I felt valued and understood. My laundry tub wasn’t draining. After a plumber friend tried to help unsuccessfully (specialized plumber), I reached out- three estimates later - I called Sewer Squad back! Giulian arrived at my door professional and prepared. There was a blockage in/to the main pipe in my basement! If you don’t know…that pipe drains ALL waste water leaving your house! After diagnosing the problem…Giulian explained exactly what the problem was and presented a couple of options. I now have knowledge about what exactly happened AND a clog free drain!!! Going forward, should the need arise? Sewer Squad is THE only company for me!!! A 10/10++ is my rating of Giulian and Sewer Squad😁

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Sewer Squad, particularly because I hired them at one of the most difficult and vulnerable times a homeowner can experience.
After suffering two back-to-back floods, I hired Sewer Squad to install a backwater valve because the City of St. Catharines offers the FLAP grant program. On Sewer Squad’s recommendation, I also agreed to have a sump pump installed.
Before proceeding, I brought the FLAP program information directly to Giulian. He reviewed it and assured me they understood the requirements and could support the process. I was also specifically told that Sewer Squad handled the necessary permits and related requirements.
That did not happen.
To my shock, I discovered that no plumbing permit had been applied for, and the requirements necessary for the FLAP program had not been properly completed. I ultimately had to go onto the City of St. Catharines website myself, apply and pay for the plumbing permit, and submit the FLAP application.
This is particularly serious because you cannot simply arrange the required City plumbing inspection without the proper permit.
Even worse, my home flooded for a THIRD time after Sewer Squad completed this work.
Over the following two weeks, I dealt with multiple emails, conversations and explanations from Sewer Squad that simply did not line up with what I was subsequently learning from the City and the inspector.
I discovered that the sump pump did not have the backup I believed was required and that it was not connected to the weeping tile system. Then came the latest unbelievable situation: Sewer Squad did not show up for the plumbing inspection.
The inspection failed. The work necessary for it to pass had not been completed, and Sewer Squad has still not returned to properly resolve the outstanding issues.
I contacted the City inspector myself, and he confirmed to me that Sewer Squad knew what needed to be done before he could return to reinspect the work.
I am also still waiting for the required camera footage that I need for my insurance company and the inspector. Because this remains unresolved, I have now had to hire another company to take over the work and retain a lawyer.
What makes this experience especially upsetting is the timing. Our family was dealing with repeated flooding, sewage damage and enormous stress. This was exactly when we needed to be able to trust the professionals we hired.
I also wish I had been more cautious after hearing discussions about offering “cash” deals to people who did not have insurance coverage. In hindsight, that should have raised concerns for me.
I am sharing this review because homeowners dealing with flooding are already overwhelmed. When hiring a company for a backwater valve, sump pump or work connected to a municipal grant program, verify the permit yourself, confirm exactly what is included in writing, confirm the installation meets the City's requirements, and make sure all inspections are completed before considering the job finished.
My experience with Sewer Squad has resulted in additional expense, additional stress, a failed inspection, another flood, another contractor being brought in to address the work, and now legal involvement.
After everything our family has already been through, this experience has been absolutely awful.

Sewer Squad recently cleaned out and lined my root-infested clay sewer drain, and the entire experience was exceptional.
Nick handled the initial visit, camera inspection, and estimate. Yaroslav did the excavation and cleanout installation. Connor and Caleb completed the subsequent measurements and lining installation. Across the board, everyone was professional, polite, and respectful of our schedule and home. While I initially thought the price was on the higher side, after comparing multiple quotes, it proved to be reasonable—with zero upselling.
Here are the stand-out details that set Sewer Squad apart from today's industry standards:
1. Safety & Communication: They sent an advance notification WITH A PHOTO of the technician arriving and their exact ETA—no random surprises at the door. This is a brilliant safety feature that offers real peace of mind, especially for anyone living alone or who may be vulnerable.
2. Punctuality: When they committed to a arrival time, they kept their word and confirmed in advance. Full respect for our time.
3. Cleanliness: Even with the potential mess of excavation, Yaroslav tarped off a tight dirt exclusion zone and laid runners along his entire walking path. They left our house spotless.
4. Transparency: Connor thoroughly explained what I was seeing on the camera inspection and answered every question with patience and detail.
They provided copies of the before-and-after camera videos, and the final invoice matched the initial estimate to the dollar, which I happily paid on the spot. Full points—I highly recommend Sewer Squad!
