  Never have I dealt with someone as unprofessional and disrespectful as Hector, the salesman on this job. This entire situation started with a clear and obvious prefab quartz mismatch: a 3x9 piece that was SIX shades darker than the existing 2x9 prefabs. This was not subjective, not lighting-related, and not “within tolerance.” Anyone with basic experience — or basic eyesight — would have caught it before anything was cut. As the salesman, Hector’s responsibility was to communicate, coordinate, and protect the customer from exactly this kind of issue. Instead, once the slab was cut and the mistake became undeniable, he handled it in the worst possible way. Rather than taking accountability or advocating for a fair solution, Hector argued with me in a loud, aggressive tone, which was completely unacceptable. He then tried to shift the blame onto me, saying it was my fault for not checking the slab before installation. That’s an absurd position for a salesman to take. I’m not the fabricator. I’m not the installer. I relied on the professionals to ensure materials matched before cutting. To add insult to injury, I was then forced to pay for the slab again because it had already been cut — a cost that existed only because proper checks were never done. Instead of standing up for the customer, Hector chose to defend the mistake and pass the financial burden onto me. No apology. No accountability. No professionalism. No customer service. Because of how this situation was handled — the attitude, the raised voice, the blame-shifting, and the refusal to take responsibility — Hector personally lost access to future projects and referrals totaling well into six figures. Not because of the original mistake, but because of how he chose to handle it. Mistakes happen in construction. Character shows when they do. Unfortunately, Hector showed exactly why he should not be trusted as a salesman or point of contact. If you value professionalism, respect, and accountability, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
