- FSFrank ShearmanDec 12, 20251.0Overall a very poor experience. Im giving one star beacuse they were prompt in showing up. My water heater pilot would not light. After trying himself and looking from the outside the tech determined I needed a whole new burner assembly as there was no spark. Parts an labor would be $1,255 and showed me the parts that would need to be ordered. He then went on to describe why my water heater brand was "crap" and he sees problems with them all the time. Better to buy a new one from him, he said, at $3,215. Or, he said he could light the pilot manually at $200. I went for that option to by me some time and some hot water. Apparently he pulled the burner assembly, cleaned a few things, then said he was unable to light the pilot. Funny, but the piezo electric pilot spark was now working. Also interesting; I don;t know how he would expect to light the pilot manually when all the gas lines were disconnected to pull the burner. I then questioned him about gas to the pilot and he didn't know, and then a few other things I asked which suggested he really didn't know what he was doing. I think the goal here was to sell me a new water heater at $3,000 + as why would I want to buy parts for a heater that was "crap" anyway. I paid the $200 and he left. Having no hot water is no joke and this is the leverage point for the blatant upsell. I pity old people or single women who take all this at face value and fork over the money. I would never use this outfit again. Beware.
