  Mason Sigouin took care of our every need and request in decommissioning an old septic system and putting in a new one. He was smart, efficient, and accommodating to some surprise modifications we asked for. We couldn’t have dreamed of better service from this company- roto rooter-and their excellent employees to complete our project. Mason also took care to make sure the final “look” was clean and undisturbed.

  I had a blockage in the pipe that caused my basement sink to overflow when the upstairs sink was drained. Although I have no complaint with work they did, I think the price they charged was exorbitant. They charge a fairly standard $139/hour for plumbing. For some reason, this was deemed to be a drainage issue and not a plumbing issue, so I was charged 2 hours at $209/hour plus a truck fee of $45, for a total, with tax of $541.01. I could understand a higher hourly charge if they had to do physical outside work, digging trenches etc. or used specialized equipment, but this was a simple "stick an auger into an outside pipe from an inside pipe" no outside work involved, so my impression is that it's nothing to do with the level of work or equipment involved, but merely that ANY time they can charge the higher amount, they will. Their explanation was that the lower hourly rate only applied to "issues like repairing piping or fittings". I suggest that anyone who chooses to use them in future (it won't be me!) determine where the line between "plumbing" at $139/hour and "other" at $209/hour lies.

  We live in Ladysmith and had fantastic service from Roman at Roto-Rooter in Nanaimo. He went above and beyond what was necessary to help us gather information about our downspout drainage. If Roman’s work ethic was set at the level of expectation required to complete a job, customers would literally have nothing to complain about. We highly recommend and would use his services again if needed. Thanks again Roman!
