I booked the rental of a boom lift for a job in Kelowna through the Vernon branch .
The lift arrived 1.5hrs earlier than expected and we were not yet on site, so they parked the lift in the street instead of the open job site.
I did receive the invoice until after the rental was completed, I was extremely disappointed with the $38 fuel surcharge for the delivery of 5km . Fuel is not that expensive, it maybe up for this time of year but it’s no more expensive than in the summer time.
Secondly they charged me $69 rental insurance I never asked for, I called to discuss this with the Kelowna branch and they said talk to the Vernon branch. Cameron at the Vernon branch told me it was compulsory to pay this , Kelowna told me it is optional.
I doubt I will rent with sunbelt again, they were much better as
nor Val rentals

Place has gone completely downhill since it used to be Winn Rentals. They only accept credit card, won’t take it over the phone, wont allow my employees or anyone take the equipment that doesn’t have a name on the card. Quality of the equipment is poor. Just overall very difficult to deal with. Not recommended.

Customer service was good but monthly rental prices is 31% more then their competitors like We Rent, Wesgroup Equipment Company or Williams Machinery same with their equipment insurance again 64% higher then competitors on a small excavator. That is over $2k more with tax for two months which would effect a small businesses bottom line or a homeowner.
