This company has scammed us out of over $200 for a "In-depth inspection" on our heating system. This was months ago but we were using this company for servicing our A/C and heating unit for about a year and a new technician had thought he found a crack in our heating unit. This was a new unit and so we wanted to make sure we were safe even though a crack was unexpected. He showed us a picture of a line that did not seem like a crack but he said he spoke with the manager and they both thought it was a crack. They told us we needed to get a more indepth inspection to make sure as this can be very dangerous. So we paid over $200 to get this in depth inspection by another employee which took him about 15 mins to open our unit and to tell us that nothing was wrong with it. He said our unit looks new and the "crack" is a normal line and build for our newer unit. He said that they previous employee probably did not know what he was looking at since its a newer unit. So i paid over $200 just because their employee and manager did not know what they were looking at? The lack of experience costed me over $200. I brought this up to the manager and she said wanted to make sure for the "safety of our family." I am not sure if we got absolutely scammed or they lack the experience which costed us unnecessary money. The manager gave us a credit of like $35 to make us feel better.
Avoid this company especially if you are not knowledgeable of your A/C and Heating units. They can take advantage of you. I want to make sure there is awareness of what they are doing.

Hard to believe it is 2026 now. We have been getting outstanding service from these guys/and gals all the way back to 2017. Back then, they were Viking Mechanical, then it was Empire Heating and Air and now they are the Mize Guys (Mize Family owned business). That is all the more reason to support them!!!
During this period of time, we have had every 6 mth service (Spring A/C and Fall Heating) on the original 2006 system that was built into our home (NO, Mize did not install the original system and we could not wait to get rid of the original contractor either). Mize was our first and only choice for the new HVAC replacement system install.
Tremendous cost savings on the units so we joined their "Wisest" Protection Plan which gets you (2) two scheduled visits a year, a 15% discount on all repairs, pre-season scheduling, replacement filters, and most important, Priority Service 24/7.
To top it all off, Connor is their son and did a tremendous job with our install in Jan 2025 and now with our service every 6 months. In fact, Connor was just here last week.
