I had a fantastic experience with Groundworks from start to finish. From my very first meeting with Ryan, who took the time to walk me through everything and provide the quote, right through to the completion of both my basement and driveway work, the entire experience was excellent.
Kai and Ade did the basement work, and they were fantastic. Not only was their work professional and thorough, but they were also incredibly patient and kind with my niece. She had lots of questions and was eager to help, and they took the time to answer her questions and make her feel included. That really stood out to me and was such a nice reflection of their character and professionalism.
Abdul and Zander handled the driveway work, and they also did an excellent job. They were professional, hardworking, and took pride in the quality of their work.
I really appreciated the communication, professionalism, and quality of work from everyone I dealt with at Groundworks. Ryan, Kai, Ade, Abdul, and Zander all played a part in making this a great experience, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Groundworks to anyone needing basement or driveway repairs.
Thank you to the whole team!

EDIT: upgraded from 1 to 2 stars because they got in into contact with me soon after this review was posted. Still unhappy that I, as the client, still had to go to hunting for followup.
An absolute nightmare to deal with this contractor.
Long story short: I had to reschedule my driveway-lifting appointment FIVE SEPARATE TIMES. Yes, you read that correctly—five times.
Full disclosure. This job cost $7500 to perform.
I initially chose this company despite being more expensive than its competitors because I expected the higher price to be justified by better workmanship, a good warranty, and a smooth overall experience. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
Here is how it went:
Friday, July 17 — 1st appointment: No-show. The customer representative was at least courteous enough to text me at 8:30 a.m. to let me know.
Friday, July 24 — 2nd appointment: No-show and no communication. I had to contact the company myself around 9 a.m. to confirm that nobody was coming. At this point, I was already very frustrated. I was offered a $200 discount in the form of a cheque after the job was completed.
Friday, August 7 — 3rd appointment: The technician was polite and gave me about 30 minutes' notice before arriving, which I appreciated. He arrived around 8:30 a.m., but was working alone. In my opinion, a job like this should have a two-person crew.
Unfortunately, the technician's equipment malfunctioned and he was unable to complete the job. He left the site to try to have the equipment repaired at the company office and returned around 2 p.m., only to find that the machine was still not functioning. He told me he would return first thing the next morning to finish the job.
Saturday, August 8 — 4th appointment: No-show, no communication, nothing. Apparently, the technician had not communicated to the office whether the job was completed, so the office did not have anyone scheduled or even on standby to complete it. At this point, I was livid. How many days am I expected to take off work and remain on standby waiting for a contractor to show up?
Monday, August 10 — 5th appointment: I was no longer willing to book another day, use PTO, or take vacation time. I asked the company to complete the job whether or not I was home. If there were any issues, I would inspect the work afterward and address them myself.
Thankfully, the two-person crew that eventually arrived did provide me with a heads-up text, which I appreciated. They completed the job in approximately 4–5 hours, took pictures, and texted me when the work was finished.
At that point, the job was finally done. The driveway is hopefully properly supported by the foam injection. The deeper depressions could not be fully raised back to level because doing so apparently risked propagating cracks in the concrete. I accepted that explanation and ultimately considered the physical work satisfactory.
However, the scheduling and communication throughout this process were completely unacceptable. I had to set aside five separate days for a job that ultimately took approximately 4–5 hours to complete. That is a significant amount of my time wasted due to repeated no-shows, equipment problems, and poor communication between the technician and the office.
And as of September 5, 2026, I still have not received the $200 cheque that was promised as compensation for the earlier inconvenience. I have an email from the customer representative saying that I will receive such compensation, but no response from them when I sent an email asking about it on Aug 27, 2026.
The crew that ultimately completed the work was professional, but the overall customer experience was extremely disappointing. Paying a premium for a contractor should come with a premium level of service, communication, and respect for the customer's time. Unfortunately, that was not what I experienced.
