We had a leak in our brand new air conditioner and after the assessment was done, he said they could fix the leak and we could refill the air conditioner, but the chances of the compressor being shot were extremely high as it had been running low and we didn’t know for how long. He said it would be very risky to go that route and we could still need to buy a brand new air conditioner (if the compressor was shot). So we had someone come out for a second opinion and the first thing they told us was not to worry about the compressor being shot because there is a fail safe in place in new air conditioners to prevent that. So why would someone recommend a brand new air conditioner?! I sent an email in regarding this complaint and I have heard nothing back. Super disappointing.
Hired JPS to install a 3-head mini split heat pump and the installation journey was a nightmare. Don't go with these guys unless you have enough PTO to stay home multiple days for service appointments.
First two heads and condenser install:
- Condenser had a broken valve on arrival, discovered at the end of the day spraying refrigerant for several minutes once charged, needing a second repair appointment to fix the brand new unit before the AC could be switched on
- Used dull drill bits to cut a hole in the wall plywood, took over 10 minutes and the friction blackened the wood and filled the bedroom with smoke, could have set the house on fire??? The whole room, my bed and clothes smelled like a forest fire and the room took almost 2 weeks to air out with boxfans before it stopped smelling like that
- Used old dirty mats and boot covers, smudging laminate floor with dirt everywhere they went, needing a power mop to clean up after they left
Third head install:
- Arrived with the wrong head unit, so a morning appointment went way overtime, waiting hours for the correct head unit to be brought, messing up my work schedule
- Head unit had a power cable in the way of the attachment bracket so it wouldn't click into place, but the lead installer ignored it and just pushed and slammed on the head unit repeatedly for almost 10 minutes - have it on video - that's a good way to pinch and damage the power lines, now do I have a fire hazard on my wall?
- Tore up the hose insulation going into the condenser, so it's an ugly duct tape mess now
- Left an outdoor lineset cover unclosed when leaving, I had to close it myself
- Same old dirty mats and boot covers
- Made me sign someone elses's work order by mistake
- CHARGED me for someone else's work order by mistake
- Last but not least, asked me how to change their remote control to celcius after both techs spent several minutes helplessly pressing buttons? Seriously??
15k total for 3 heads, yeah eventually the AC did work but with how horrible the service calls went and the multiple ways their work could set the house on fire, it was simply an absolutely atrocious multi-day gongshow, especially the workers on the third head. I regret believing the online reviews and going with them!

We had a great experience with Travis in the early stages of understanding our existing heating system, how to optimize its performance plus what the best A/C unit would complement our existing furnace. All his advice was extremely helpful.
The installation by Dakota also went very smoothly. I was extremely impressed by the courtesy shown by him and his partner. I was also impressed by the care they took to lay down mats to keep our home clean during their work and how they cleaned up after the installation.
I would recommend JPS to any others who are looking to add or replace heating / air conditioning equipment.

Contacted JPS as they were the original installer of the AC system in our home we purchased last year. Over the heat wave I noticed the AC was not cooling efficiently nor effectively. The big notice was that there was cool air blowing on the exterior of the home at the condenser side.
Calling their office for a service call ($160) to diagnose the issue. The technician, albeit knowledgeable enough, hooked up his field view gauges and got to work. After a couple hours he found that the electrical connection at the unit was not tightened down enough and was arcing. Surprisingly it didn’t catch fire or smoke out.
Furthermore he tried upselling us on a new unit as he stated the compressor was likely shot and that the evap coil was most likely leaking and failing as well.
Keep in mind both pieces are still within the 5 year warranty period.
I spent 500 dollars total on the diagnostic and repair of the electrical connection, only to find out I needed to drop atleast another 3000 dollars to “replace” something that likely wasn’t the issue.
Another note, lying to me that they would not be able to recover the original refrigerant, which is lawfully untrue. And that it would all need to be replaced, charging 1500 for refrigerant, 500 for a leak detection, and 5 more hours to replace the compressor which in my opinion was not the problem.
Getting a second opinion, and work from another company, they advised me on a more extensive and albeit cheaper more thorough diagnostic, which found that the inside metering pistion was installed backwards from the original installation.
Two fails on a straightforward job.
I would never reccomend JPS as it seems they are only out to price gouge.

One moment our air conditioning unit was working, and the next, completely dead. We called JPS Furnace & Air Conditioning, and they promised to send their best tech. They absolutely delivered. Abhi arrived as his last stop of the day, but you never would have guessed it. His passion for his craft was immediately obvious. He took the time to do an amazing, thorough job without rushing. I was hovering around out of curiosity and asking a ton of questions, but Abhi was exceedingly kind, polite, and patient with every single one. He explained everything he was doing clearly and gave us invaluable recommendations, even taking the extra time to service our heater. Abhi’s unique blend of professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine care completely won us over. JPS is now the only company we will ever call for our heating and cooling needs. Thank you, Abhi, and thank you, JPS, for the outstanding service!
