- SKStan KhanNov 1, 20223.0I rented a couple of jacks and was clearly a newbie at renting here. It was abundantly clear to staff helping me. As such (and I admit it was my fault for not reading the "fine print") I had returned the jacks a few hours late. Upon return I was subsequently charged the late fee to my surprise. It would have been nice to have the conditions explained to avoid these charges initially. The condition of the jacks were mediocre, they were a rusty and showed significant signs of wear. To make them work I bought some grease to apply to the threads. In the future, I would probably have preference to Home Depot or Saanich rentals for my home needs. That said, I don't know ow that they would have quite the inventory of United Rentals. For my home needs, more than likely the latter would suffice. In fact with my last rental at Home Depot the salesperson told me that if the product didn't work for me, just bring it back and he would refund my money. For DIY like myself, I feel Saanich Rentals and Home Depot are better options.
