We purchased LVP flooring from Exclusive Floors in Surrey. I can’t yet comment on the product quality, but I can speak to the service experience at this location, which ended up being quite poor.
When we first visited the showroom, Vic was welcoming and helpful. We explained that we would be installing the floor ourselves after work/on weekends and discussed pickup options in detail. We were told multiple times that we could pick it up “anytime” and that they would hold it for two months for free, which made us feel confident moving forward.
That friendly and helpful tune quickly changed after paying when we went to arrange pickup and were told it could only be done Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., with no exceptions or alternatives, meaning we would need to take time off work. This was never made clear during the sales process.
I reached out to the Coquitlam location for help and spoke with Scott, who was extremely understanding and apologetic. He even offered a weekend pickup exception in Coquitlam if the flooring could be transferred there. However, when I followed up with Vic, I was told the transfer would involve a fee that was not initially disclosed and was instead pushed toward the “better” option of paying $220 for delivery, which was also only available on weekdays. We later learned the internal transfer was the cheaper option at $170.
What was most off-putting was the lack of transparency around the transfer cost and the quick jump to upselling the more expensive delivery option, which clearly didn’t work for our schedule. This stood in stark contrast to how willing the Coquitlam staff were to help despite not being the location we purchased from. Vic’s approach made us feel like upselling was being prioritized rather than working with us to find a solution that actually fit our situation.
Vic also told us he was looking into whether Surrey could make a similar exception for weekend pickup, but after a week and multiple follow up contacts we never received any follow-through on that.
To make matters worse, we ultimately both took a day off work and picked up the flooring on a Friday morning. While there, we noticed a sign outside the customer pickup bay stating that after-hours service is available on Saturdays. When we asked about this, we were told that the warehouse team could have had the pallet brought up to the showroom and we could have hand-loaded into our vehicle from there ( something we had previously said we were completely fine with if it meant not missing work) Learning this afterward was incredibly frustrating and further reinforced the feeling that upselling us with a transfer or delivery fee was being prioritized over actually helping us
Overall, while the initial experience to get the sale was positive, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and lack of follow-through afterward left us feeling frustrated, misled and wishing we went elsewhere for flooring
EDIT: After getting the flooring home and unloading the pallet, we discovered that all of our custom stair nosing was missing from the order. I am shocked and incredibly disappointed about this entire experience and would highly recommend going elsewhere for flooring
