They took 6 months to finish our basement ,only one guy on the job and went days without working . We did the hard work taking the sopping wet carpet and underlay out as well 4 feet high of drywall. The owner was rude still hasn’t given us a receipt.. Tried calling several times still haven’t got reply back . Carpet isn’t even tacked properly they were suppose to replace all cupboards and doors they just painted over them they still all swell on bottoms they put in wrong size drywall and a lot of mud can see the slop in walls .their plumbers were very rude . So much more can write all I can say is NOT NOT NOT happy with their services will NOT recommend them to anyone .

I hardly ever write negative Google reviews. I usually only focus on doing positive Google reviews, but I think it’s necessary in this case because Service Master caused us a lot of grief. I noticed there are not a lot of reviews on Service Master and the ones that are up there are all good reviews and perhaps they’re great with floods but after the fires and us being out of our house for over nine months with Service Master being the restoration company I need to share my story.
When we first met with Service Master, Robert told us we won’t be happy until you’re happy and I can certainly say that was not the case. I will say that Robert was always good at responding to text messages and questions but everything else was a complete failure.
My neighbours who went through the same fire and had smoke damage were back in their home after two months, but they had used Puroclean Restoration Services I’m not sure when the decision was made and why it was made but my insurance company did switch over to Puroclean this past month and I am going to be back in my house this weekend. The amount of work they did in this short time is amazing and I will review them next.
First, after the initial meeting with the adjuster who was from Saskatchewan and with Robert from Service Master, there was a distinct bad smell in the house so they cleaned our house and cleaned all the furniture but the smell persisted. However, Robert told the insurance company that he didn’t smell it, and since my adjuster had changed to somebody out of Vancouver, they could not come in and they took his word for it, and it was an uphill battle from there, and I had to fight tooth and nail to have more work Done. Robert later confessed that he didn’t have the greatest sense of smell, but I do believe that that was what precipitated the insurance company dragging their feet.
Because of all the delays in getting more work done and honestly Band-Aid solutions I am now in my sixth rental waiting to move back home. I get that the restoration companies also work for insurance but Service Master did nothing to help our case.
In the last month, now with Puroclean all of our furniture was removed and deemed to have smoked damage and was nonrestorable. Why our furniture wasn’t removed by Service Master and tested in the first place to determine if maybe that was part of the culprit of the smell I don’t understand. Also we heard from other people that you need to check your window seals for damage and that your home should’ve been power washed, which wasn’t so now that’s getting done through Puroclean. So why did Servicemaster not make that recommendation as according to everyone I talk to it’s standard.
Also with Service Master, all our clothing was removed to be cleaned and I was told to expect three weeks and it ended up being three months and I understand that I’m sure the laundry places were busy, but I should’ve been given an accurate estimate because we ended up going into the winter with no winter clothes.
These past nine months have been a nightmare and I do believe had we had Puroclean on the job instead of Service master much of this turmoil could be avoided.

We had servicemaster help us out with a toilet overflow in our ensuite bathroom. From the start of job to the finish, we are completely satisified with every stage from the clean up to the carpenter/painter, the furniture mover and the carpet layer! The carpenter was outstanding! Sandy Rehaume and her entire team was just so helpful. These folks are the real deal. We had no stress whatsoever!

I had a sewer backup in my apartment. ServiceMaster had my items moved out and stored immediately, helped me with my insurance, and went above the call of duty helping me. They are fast, careful, trustworthy and pleasant. I will use this company again if need be.
