Although the customer service was ok, and they got someone out quickly, the tech gave up on repairing our doors right away, told us our doors and hardware were failing, and essentially told us we needed new ones. Our quote for 2 doors was anywhere between 20-36k. We also felt pretty pressured to move forward. A different owner/operator came out the next day. He told us we still had plenty of life in the doors. He got the tracks re-aligned, replaced the cables, lubricated all the hardware, replaced both springs, and re-programmed the doors. Back to smooth operation. All for $488 dollars. Get a second opinion before going with A1.đź‘Ś

When it started reversing after just a few weeks, their representative was outright condescending and dismissive, insisting it wasn’t their problem. Sure, they waived the call-out fee after some argument, but they still made it clear I’d be on the hook for any further costs. The whole experience left me beyond frustrated. I don’t know if this is A1 per se they have always been polite but the rep I spoke to talked down to me and basically implied I was being childish.

He also made some repairs for our main bay door and opener. He worked tenaciously for several hours. This company is very lucky to have him as an employee. Our hope is that he is well taken care of and thrives in his profession.

When I mentioned how high the prices were compared to other companies I’ve used, he told me, “We can charge more because of our size, we’re the Verizon of garage doors.” Well, I’ll be saving my money and finding the Cricket of the garage door world instead. Complete waste of a visit.
