- BHBrenda HuffmanOct 31, 20251.0Do not close on a home purchased from Richmond American until you have every item on your punch list resolved. I learned the hard way. They are okay with their carpet installers not installing padding underneath all of your carpeting. I have windows that rattle and whistle and am having to live with the noise everytime the wind blows, as their sub-contracts lied and stated they came to my home for a scheduled visit, but all they did was hang a notice on my door that they stopped by, when I was sitting in my home prepared for the visit. I have found Richmond American is more concerned about their relationships with the sub-contractor's than home owners. It is very unfortunate that builders and sub-contractor's today are not concerned with quality work, just throwing up houses, getting them closed to meet numbers and increase their profits.
