Fantastic service! By far the best rooter service I've tried (and I've tried a few because of an aggressive mesquite), their technicians are all polite and have great attention to detail. Orlando especially impressed me with this latest interaction. It all started when someone cleaning out my pool dumped a bunch of sludge down my sewer clean-out, causing a sudden and massive clog. Of course it happened at night, and I had a few inches of swamp water filling my shower! I called the emergency line and was happy to hear that someone could come out that night. When Orlando arrived he took care of the problem right away. When discussing some other issues with my line, he also brought up a solution no other plumbing service had. Other companies had always said my root problem could only be solved by hydrojetting or a full reline. Orlando thought outside the box and suggested a fix for just that one bad section of pipe. The rest of my sewer line was sound, but just that one section needed to be repaired. The cost was about a quarter of what I'd been quoted before. I agreed after he helped me find financing. The job was done promptly and they did great completing the work efficiently, cleaning up the site after and leaving everything looking good. Where there were small delays Orlando communicated clearly and promptly, then explained what had been done and what I could expect going forward. This is a big weight off my mind and in a way I'm grateful that clog happened, because this is a better solution than I'd thought possible!

Rooter Ranger and Quick Restore: Proceed with Caution Now that this ordeal is behind us, I’m writing this review as a warning to others. In early October, we noticed that one of our bathroom sinks wasn’t draining. After exhausting all my plumbing knowledge, we decided to call in a professional. We opted not to use our home warranty, thinking it was a simple clogged drain that just needed to be snaked. We contacted Rooter Ranger, a company we had used before and trusted to handle the job efficiently and cost-effectively. A technician arrived and attempted to clear the drain using a power auger but couldn’t get far into the pipe. He recommended a camera inspection through the vent pipe to identify the blockage. At that point, I mentioned our home warranty might require us to switch plumbing companies. He said Rooter Ranger typically charges around $350 for a camera inspection but could possibly do it for $200 including the cost of clearing the drain after he speak with his supervisor. We agreed. Later that day, they returned, dropped a camera down the vent pipe, and claimed to find a broken pipe. They warned of potential water damage behind the bathroom walls and under the foundation. The tech and supervisor then recommended a partner company, Quick Restore, to handle the supposed water damage. I suggested contacting our insurance company, but they insisted Quick Restore could help file the claim and get equipment set up quickly. Rooter Ranger then used equipment to “locate” the broken pipe under our foundation and proposed a $5,000 repair involving digging up the bathroom foundation and hydro-flushing the system. This didn’t include Quick Restore’s costs. Given the scale of the proposed repairs, we decided to consult our home warranty and insurance. Quick Restore spent over a week testing and removing half the walls behind the vanity in the bathroom wall claiming extensive damage. However, they found no water damage, despite earlier claims that it affected our AC closet, hallway, and entryway tiles. Our home warranty sent out a team that identified two issues: A pipe lodged in the vent was causing the blockage. Possible root intrusion near the street. They found no broken or cracked pipes, and Rooter Ranger hadn’t even mapped the pipe layout correctly. No foundation work was needed. The warranty team removed the old cast iron T-joint, replaced it with PVC, and added a cleanout. Simple fix. After meeting with our insurance adjuster, who confirmed there was no water damage, we had Quick Restore remove their equipment. For this non-emergency, we were billed $3,300. We later learned that Rooter Ranger and Quick Restore frequently refer customers to each other. Lesson learned: Always get a second (or third) opinion. Let your insurance company refer service providers. Don’t rely on one company’s diagnosis when major repairs are involved.

Be careful. They came and did two diagnostics to determine how to repair a leak in a urinal. After the 2nd diagnostic, I was told I'd have a full estimate by the end of the next day (Friday of last week). That didn't happen, so I called Monday morning and asked for help. I was told someone would reach out to me right away. Didn't happen. I called back Monday afternoon again to ask for help. Was told I'd get a call. Didn't happen. I just called again and spent 20 minutes on the phone with the customer service rep who said she'd send me the estimate. What I received from her was an invoice for the previous diagnostics and then a copy of an estimate from last week. I pointed out that I needed to speak to someone in charge and she said she'd put me on hold to get someone. When she came back to the phone she said she'd have someone call right away. I told her to have them call me on my office phone #, which she confirmed. When I finally did get a call, the person who called said he was a supervisor and would be reviewing my file (I was told that was going to happen yesterday) and he insisted he had called me the day prior on my mobile phone and left a voicemail. That is a lie as I did not receive a voicemail yesterday. I did just check my phone and prior to calling me on my office phone, he did call and leave two messages on my mobile (which I didn't answer as it appeared to be a spam call and I had specifically asked the customer service person for the call to be on my office phone. This has been a terrible experience. I do not recommend them at all. It's been a royal waste of time. I told the person with whom I spoke (Orlando) that I wanted my money back for them having wasted my time. He said he'd process it and then hung up on me.

Very polite and courteous. Snaked the shower drain and was in and out in no time. I hope to have him back whenever we need help again.
