- DBdave brownApr 6, 20261.0This is for corporate…not a review of the employees or service at Show Low United Rentals. I went in there today to rent a small, 36” wide skid steer. I live a great distance away on back roads and inquired about picking the skid steer up with my own trailer. I was told I would have to have a 3/4 ton or bigger truck in order to pick up the skid steer. I understand the concern about size but the skid steer only weighs 3000 pounds. I have a Tundra pickup capable of hauling 10,000 pounds max trailer weight. I use an equipment trailer 2 5/16 ball that weighs about 2500 pounds. I haul things much heavier than the little skid steer and well under what my truck is rated for. Just letting corporate to know they are losing business. Thank you. I only inquired about the small unit so I don’t know why you brought up the heavier machinery in the reply. The small unit could be safely towed by my truck as it fits into the specs.There was no confusion about what I wanted to rent. That’s ok. Just thought I’d let someone know that I had to go elsewhere.
