I connected with Andre at Larsons with a view to determining if Larsons was the right AC service company. He was most pleasant and knowledgeable contact and explained their approach to service maintenance etc. He followed up by sending Dan Williams to complete the inspection. Dan was very experienced & knowledgeable, and found a number of precautionary items that needed attention. His ‘non sales’ practical and thorough approach an d explanations impressed me greatly and this led me to signing an annual maintenance service agreement, which included the installation of warning sensors, especially important because this is a vacation home for us. From beginning to end, I found this experience to be EXCELLENT. I have already recommended Larsons to another friend whose vacation home also has similar requirements.

We were lucky enough to have a good tech come out and look at our AC. Juan arrived on time and was very professional and clearly knew what he was doing. Juan took time to walk me through each step of the inspection and explained everything in full detail and stopped to answer all my questions without rush. What stood out most was his honesty, no up selling, no pressure just straightforward information about the condition of my system. I highly recommend Larson air conditioning and their technician Juan. Thank you

Called for a competitive bid on rebrazing a leaking ferrule/line connection to mini-split. Estimate was well over $3k for what amounts to 4yrs work to replace the ferrule and recover/replace the freon in the system. While their price for freon at $116 is very fair (unlike others), the price on labor is ridiculous and double what competitor's are charging. I would not recommend this firm and I've had a lot of experience with such repairs. I went with another company.

Juan was superb!
He was in (very appreciated) communication before his arrival, and came ready to get to work.
He was cordial, knowledgeable, and professional. He appeared economical in his approach to work and assessments, and explained things clearly.
We appreciated the fact that he was very much “at home” with dogs and a cat around (our house).
We also appreciated how sensitive Juan was to accessing the attic area.
All in all Juan seems like a great addition to the Larson “product”.
You hire well.
Thanks

When everything goes smoothly any company will do, but when there is a problem you get to see what kind of company you are working with. In my case after the system installation there was a noise from the duct in my bedroom. My regular technician Sam came out with the insulation manager Josh to diagnose the issue. The problem was the old duct work. They came back with material to fix the problem, and made sure it was working properly. They came back again (without being asked) to follow up and make sure it was still operating properly. Larson Air showed true concern that I was fully satisfied with the system. I had a good feeling about them when I chose them and my instincts turned out to be correct. I would recommend Larson Air without reservation.
Frequently Asked Questions About Larson Air Conditioning
How does an air conditioner work?
An air conditioner cools your Arizona home by removing heat from the indoor air and transferring it outside. It does this through a cycle of compression and expansion of a refrigerant, which absorbs heat from indoor air and releases it outside, resulting in cooler air circulating indoors.
What's the importance of cleaning the condenser coil?
Cleaning the condenser coil is crucial for maintaining the efficiency of your AC system. A dirty coil can restrict heat transfer, causing your AC to work harder and consume more energy. Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and lower energy bills.
What's the importance of cleaning the evaporator coil?
Cleaning the evaporator coil helps maintain indoor air quality and cooling efficiency. A dirty coil can reduce cooling capacity, increase energy consumption, and even lead to poor indoor air quality due to reduced moisture removal.
Why is a condensate flush needed?
A condensate flush prevents clogs in the drain line, which can cause water damage and mold growth. It's essential for maintaining the proper functioning of your AC system and avoiding costly repairs.
How often should I schedule maintenance for my HVAC system?
In Scottsdale, Arizona, it's recommended to schedule maintenance for your HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system twice per year. Regular maintenance helps ensure the efficiency and reliability of your system, extending its lifespan and preventing potential breakdowns, especially when you need it most.
Typically, homeowners choose to have HVAC maintenance performed in the spring or early summer before the peak cooling season begins. However, scheduling maintenance during the fall is also advisable for those who use heating during the winter months. Regular maintenance includes tasks such as cleaning, tuning, checking for leaks, and ensuring proper airflow. It's a cost-effective way to keep your HVAC system running smoothly and efficiently while avoiding costly repairs down the road.
Keep in mind that some HVAC companies offer maintenance plans that provide scheduled service reminders and additional benefits, such as priority service and discounts on repairs. These plans can help you stay on top of your HVAC system's maintenance needs.
I don't use my heater, does it really need maintenance in Fall?
Yes, it's essential to perform maintenance in the fall, even if you don't use your heater frequently. This ensures that both heating and cooling components are in good shape and, most importantly, in safe operational condition. Regular maintenance helps prevent issues such as carbon monoxide leaks and natural gas leaks, ensuring your HVAC system is ready when needed and avoiding potential problems during the winter months.
How often should an air filter be replaced?
Air filters should typically be replaced in Arizona homes every 30-60 days depending on factors like filter type and household conditions. A clean filter improves indoor air quality and helps your AC system run efficiently.
What is the life expectancy of an AC system?
The life expectancy of an AC system in the Arizona desert climate is around 12-15 years with proper maintenance. Factors such as maintenance, usage, and climate can influence its longevity.
Why do I need my ducts sealed?
Sealing ducts prevents air leaks, ensuring that conditioned air reaches its intended destination efficiently. This helps improve indoor comfort, energy efficiency, and reduces energy bills. Sealed ducts also reduces the amount of dust that gets pulled into the duct system and distributed throughout the home.
What is the purpose of insulation?
Insulation is crucial for regulating indoor temperature. In Scottsdale's hot climate, proper insulation helps keep your home cooler in summer and reduces energy consumption, leading to lower cooling costs.
How much does a service call fee for HVAC repair cost?
In Scottsdale, Arizona, the cost of a service call fee for HVAC repair typically ranges from $79 to $149. This fee covers the technician's travel to your home or business and the diagnostic assessment of your HVAC system. It's important to note that some companies may advertise a "free" service call fee with repairs, or "waived" with approved repair but it's essential to understand that the cost may be incorporated into the repair charges.
The service call fee can vary based on factors such as whether it's during regular hours, after-hours, or on holidays. Additionally, for more complex equipment or intricate problems that require advanced diagnostics, there may be additional costs associated with the diagnostic work.
