  Pricing was about $600 per hour. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was called about a blockage in the drain line from the washing machine. The plumber used a camera to locate the blockage, so he was aware in advance where it was located, which was in the wall behind the washer. He then called to say he was unlikely to clear the blockage through the pipe itself and would have to open the wall behind the washer. He provided a quote of over $1,800 to clear the blockage. The plumber said he had eight years of plumbing experience – so he should have known how much work was involved. The invoice was $1,803 for about three hours of time including the travel time. The charges on the final invoice show three-line items as follows: (See photo) • $296 disconnect & reinstall washer & dryer (only pulled back from wall about 18”) • $296 cut access hole (to cut opening in the drywall about 18” by 24”) • $1,211 drain repair A few days later I called to speak about the charges with management, however I could only leave a message with the phone representative. A few days after that I received a call from the Vice President of Operations, and I asked if he would review the charges. He said he would and then he would call me back. He never did call back, so I subsequently sent a letter to the person who is listed as a qualifying party on the Registrar of Contractors website for Benjamin Franklin, and as a statutory agent on the Corporation Commission website, asking him to review the charges. He never contacted me back either. In summary, the charges amounted to about $600 per hour and then no contact from company.

  $1500 for an hour of work seems like a bit much. Cut a square in the stucco and patched a leak was all that was done. They were here in September replacing the hose bib, less than a foot from the new leak. They mentioned this and said they would try fixing it for free under warranty but then gave a half-ass try. If you can’t recognize the customers perspective, meet them partly in the middle, offer a discount because you were just here working less than a foot from the new leak, then you don’t deserve a good review. $1500 an hour!.. no thanks.

  Benjamin Franklin was great in getting someone to use same day we called. Jake was awesome, very nice, did work very well and quick, told us straight up what options we had. Cleaned up after work was done. This was our first time using Ben Franklin and we were happy and will use them again.

  Brad was very prompt and delivered very approachable, friendly, quality service. I’m glad I had him look at my water heater while he was here to service my RO system. He showed me that it was time to do some service on the tank and we replaced the “sacrificial rod” that was very very degraded. Highly recommend this Brad and his company Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. They are incredibly prompt and polite.

  Do not recommend. They don’t explain things thoroughly and they are very expensive. I just received this service on February 10th & February 11th for a shower valve replacement and a sink valve replacement. We were charged $2,501. After talking with the technician Brad, he explained the replacements would be taken care of same day so we payed him right away. Another technician, Duncan, came over on Tuesday around 1pm and after working for a while he said grabbed the wrong part and left for about 20 mins. Later around 4:30 he informed us that the shower valve had a crack in it and he’s never seen that before and could not go out again and get a replacement until the following day. We were very disappointed considering we only have one shower. Another thing to note is that both technicians did not specify that the huge hole they made in the wall to get to the shower valve will not be repaired (even though they stated that they informed us on their notes). Brad only said it was a possibility it didn’t need to be cut open and Duncan said he had to & we assumed it would be taken care of. If we knew that it wasn’t going to be repaired, we would’ve went with another plumbing company because now we have to get another person to fix it up. Lastly, our technician Duncan, made a mess everywhere. Our kitchen was wet on the bottom with water, our bathroom shower was melted and dirty, our door was left wide open, our plants were kicked, and the floor was a mess. Overall, I do not recommend this company and only wish I asked the breakdown of everything and what was going to happen to the wall.
