Would mark this as zero stars if that was an option! Had a service call and installed springs on March 4 called April 9 this morning to show them that the springs were not adjusted properly and there was a large gap in the door to the floor on one side of my garage door service indicated that my account was flagged as a boundary cross account that I was aggressive in their last appointment. At no time at all during the service call were there interactions/ conversation with anybody in my family besides myself so I am 100% aware of every word that was spoken and nothing was aggressive. We considered the cost at which time he made a call to his supervisor and all of a sudden the pricing went down 1/3 - please keep that in mind when you’re given your first price, I felt the price was appropriate after the magical price change and I went forward with the service. I called back today and all of a sudden it’s a flagged address- I assure you nothing happened during this conversation. This must be a way that they handle service calls to keep cost low and avoid servicing their jobs. I asked to speak to a supervisor, she indicated there was none available. I asked if this was a call center or an actual employee she said an employee so I asked if I could be put on hold until a supervisor was available and she said no, and could not guarantee the One would call me back. Since I did not have a proper service I told her I was going to dispute the credit card and she said that was fine. This absolutely must be the way they handle business

DO NOT utilize A1 garage door unless you want to overpay! Our spring broke on a Saturday. We were unable to get our vehicles out because the door wouldn't even open manually. The positive on A1 is they did come out within a couple of hours. John was the technician and he was a nice friendly guy, seemed knowledgeable. However...he offered me a price of $1,100 OR $1,500 for a spring with a lifetime warranty. It seemed high to me so I called a different garage door company and they quoted me $350 for a new spring. When I told this to John, all of the sudden he was able to lower his price to $600. I mean what??? They are basically overcharging as much as they can to people that don't question it. I actually feel sorry for John because he was a super nice guy and didn't even charge me a trip fee (which I offered to pay). Just a terrible business model in my opinion. We waited for the other company and had it replaced for $350.

I had A1 Garage Door Service install a new garage door opener (Liftmaster) and a new garage door system in December 2025. The technicians were friendly and professional. The next day I had issues with the control panel in the garage. It would go dead so I couldn't open the door from the panel. I called A1 the next day and told them about the issue. The owner himself came out to check (impressive!). Unfortunately, we were leaving for our other home and couldn't be there. He checked things out and couldn't see what we were experiencing. We came back to the home after a few months, and the same issue was presenting. No power to the wall control panel in the garage (and no power to the receiving garage door sensor). Honestly, we were a bit frustrated as we spent a fair sum on the new opener and door back in December. Called A1 told them we needed someone to come out. They scheduled us for the same day. We were told there would be no charge. Technician Alex came to the home that day. He first checked all the wiring then determined it to be a faulty control panel in the new opener. Keep in mind the opener was installed in December so was not even 4 months old and we opened the garage maybe 4 times (since we were out of state). Alex skillfully removed the faulty opener and replaced it with a new one. He set up the new remotes and app. and the door with the newly installed Liftmaster was working like a charm. Seems we got "a lemon" with the first install. Not at all the fault of A1 just a faulty unit from Liftmaster. I can say that A1 stands behind their work and their products. They came out and made things right. No hassle. No extra fees. Just great service. I was wondering if I made a mistake going with A1. I can tell you with the utmost candor that I wholeheartedly recommend A1. Their customer service has earned my trust. I have a great new garage door, opener, and A1 team that I can count on for the next 10-20 years.

I was leaving the house for the day and when i tried to open the garage door, it wouldn't go up. as i looked at the door and the linkage, i noticed that the main spring had about 18" broken off. The door would not open. i called A1 garage and told them the status and they set me up for an appointment and a technician for the following day. Thomas was my service tech and texted the next day to introduce himself and let me know when he would be arriving.
When Thomas arrived he inspected the damage and told me that he could fix. He went over pricing and warranty information and got to work. the first thing he did was to free my captive car so that i was mobile for the day. He had the necessary parts in the truck and replaced the spring and replaced the rollers at my request.
Thomas and i hit it off right from the start. He has a great sense of humor as well as a deep knowledge about garage doors.. I left him to it and a couple of hours later, he handed me the invoice. The cost was reasonable but i didn't want to pay it out of pocket so Thomas set me up with a computerize credit app with no interest for year. Thomas had everything that i needed including a calming attitude. Great job Thomas. You handled my problem in 5 Star style. Thanks again,
Jim

Do not waste your time with this company. Our garage door will not open and yes our garage is full . First you call and you can't talk to a real person it's a AI bot . The snarky guy comes out comes in the garage and proceeds to tell me how he can't fix the door without me emptying the garage. Well if I could empty the garage obviously I wouldn't need a garage door guy. Then he proceeds to go outside and get on the phone for 15 minutes . Comes back out and proceeds to tell me again that I need to empty the garage and again I tell him if I could open the door he would not be there if he can get the door open I can move things out . He proceeds to tell me that it's going to take three or four guys being pulled off several jobs to come lift the door open because it's dead weight. We need new Springs and at minimum the motor is going to cost $2,000 . Then he starts rattling off numbers and tries to tell me that every part of our garage door system has to be replaced except the door and when he mentions the rails I stop him . Ask him why did the rails have to be redone there's nothing wrong with them ? All in all if you start adding the numbers up that he's giving me he wants five to six thousand dollars for this job . And I look at him and say so you're telling me it's going to be at least five grand I said I need an estimate . Well now he can't give me an estimate because when he called whomever he called they canceled the job and so he doesn't have the ability on his tablet to write an estimate. He wants me to call and tell them that I need three or four guys and everything I need for my garage door. Excuse me you are the garage door guy why am I having to call your office and talk to an AI bot and tell them what I think I need is this not your job ? I looked at him and said you know if you don't want to do the job all you have to do is say so and he reiterates that I need to call the office and tell them what I need because our garage door is larger than the average garage door and apparently now I'm the professional and I'm supposed to call them until them what needs to be done. He said he put in some notes . I asked again why he couldn't give me an estimate and he kept giving me the runaround and I finally just said fine and I walked away . Called somebody else sent them a few pictures within 2 hours the guy came out $340 for new Springs realign the door made sure everything was lined up perfect. There was no need for a new garage door opener at the cost of $2,000 or anything else for that matter . And I didn't need to empty my garage for him to get the door fixed he was very capable of putting a ladder in the spaces that were available and replacing everything that needs to be replaced. This company is the biggest joke on the planet
