- BWBobbi WoodDec 1, 20251.0Geek Squad at Best Buy Barrie put a password on my brand new $1300 MacBook without telling me what it was. I’ve spent over an hour trying to get in after picking it up, getting locked out over and over, and I still cannot use my own device. I bought this MacBook on Friday, and it’s now Monday night — they’re closed, and I still haven’t even been able to turn it on properly. Why would anyone put a password on a new device and not give it to the customer? This is the most frustrating, ridiculous experience I’ve ever had. Review continued: Now it is Tuesday morning and I have been trying to get a hold of the store for another hour. 3 representatives gave me different phone numbers to call before one let me know there is no way to contact a specific store and speak with someone directly. Why the run around? So at this point I have wasted over two hours of my time and I still have to make another trip to the store. What a joke. Terrible service.
