Let me start by saying that the Johnson Creek location has always been helpful and extremely polite. I called them when my outgoing mail wasn't picked up yesterday, January 2nd. I was told that there would be delivery and that the route was being split due to M's retirement. Both my out- going mail and the flag was still there at 5:00 pm and 7:30 this morning. I called Johnson Creek this morning and they gave me the Watertown number as they deliver to my location. I called, pressed 1 to speak with someone, and the message said that "mailbox is currently full, please try again later." Apparently this is not monitored as there was a post four months ago saying the mailbox was full. I am hopeful that I can expect my mail moving forward. I would have given zero stars if possible.

I recently moved back to a house I've owned since 2004. (Long story) Most people on my block have mailboxes at the street and ours was at the bottom of our front porch steps. I was planning on moving it but got a letter that said I needed to move it by a certain date. The move got delayed because the post I ordered didn't come timely. My mail was held for a day and I had gotten an email that a very important piece of mail was going to be delivered (informed delivery is great). It thought it hadn't come because my mail was still being held. Crystal went out of her way to look for it and even ran to my house to see if it was there. It was in my mailbox but the mail came late yesterday after I looked at 5:15pm, so I didn't know it was there. As someone who has been a rural carrier before, I know how busy this time of year is and for her to go out of her way like that was over and above! Please respect our mail carriers and staff. It's an incredibly stressful job and they try their best. I cannot say how much I appreciate the work they do. Unless you have done the job it's hard to know what a big deal this was or what they go through. Please be kind!

First attempt at phone contact met with being sent to voice-mail with the message that the mailbox was full. Immediate call back resulted in an immediate answer by a male who sounded hurried/harried, and annoyed that he had to deal with the public. I did get an answer to my late delivery that the USPS website said would arrive 2 days ago. Zero customer service courteousy present and tge only reason I'm giving a 2/5 is because I did indeed get my answer. I'd normally attribute this to someone having an off day (it happens, right?), but this is the second interaction with this guy where the customer is treated with contempt and hostility. The last time an inquiry about a delivery was made hisreply was, "hey, were short staffed (like everywhere nowadays) so if you think you could do better then come on up and get a job," Why he's allowed to interact with the public yet is a mystery.

After an experience I had with this location (but it's apparently just USPS policy), I can firmly say I hope the day comes when we see the USPS out of business and UPS or FedEx take over their role. Apparently, the USPS charges to have a package held at their facility, even if that specific location was the end-point facility and would be sent out for delivery from there. What the hell? Let me get this right, these overpaid government monkeys with a pension and benefits still charge for hold a package that was already in route there? These are your tax dollars at work. If the USPS wasn't a government entity it would've folded a long time ago due to competition from UPS and FedEx. Hopefully, they'll fail entirely someday and good riddance to them.
