- DNDavid NoffkeNov 23, 20235.0I use the USPS for shipping my packages because I can count on them. I will not use FedEx. FedEx is not a part of the United States Postal Service. Many people make this assumption because of "fed" in the name. The USPS may have Federal Express Mail, but that still is not FedEx. Federal Express Mail is a USPS registered trademark name. FedEx does not stand for Federal Express; FedEx is a private company name and not an abbreviation.
