- SGShelley GNov 22, 20251.0Went in, store was void of other customers. I immediately went to the printing/ copy desk and inquired about cost for color copies. Employee gave me an accurate estimate. I then asked for 10 copies, and was told the machine was behind me (self serve). I commented it must be new, as THEY have always made my copies. As I'm 72 yo, I prefer NOT to mess with my own copying...otherwise I could go to our local Library (which is MUCH cheaper!) I tried to work my way through the copying process (after inserting my VISA card for payment, and the machine stopped copying. I told the employee I had put in 10 copies and only received 7 copies. HE came around the counter, frustrated, continued to admonish me that the "machine was out of paper" with a tone and attitude. I immediately asked him not to speak to me with an attitude, and he "remarked "I'm not giving you attitude....I'm from the South, and if I gave you attitude, you'd know it!" He then agreed to run my other 3 copies behind the desk, as the self-serve copier had "timed out". I appreciated his offer, thanked him and left. I have used Staples for the last 10 years, and have NEVER been treated so poorly. As it was near closing time (5:35), I'm not sure if I interrupted a job he was trying to complete, he had experienced a bad day, but his Customer Service was totally unacceptable!
