- SGShelley G2 days ago1.0Went in, store was void of other customers. I immediately went to the printing/ copy desk and inquired about cost for color copies. Employee gave me an accurate estimate. I then asked for 10 copies, and was told the machine was behind me (self serve). I commented it must be new, as THEY have always made my copies. As I'm 72 yo, I prefer NOT to mess with my own copying...otherwise I could go to our local Library (which is MUCH cheaper!) I tried to work my way through the copying process (after inserting my VISA card for payment, and the machine stopped copying. I told the employee I had put in 10 copies and only received 7 copies. HE came around the counter, frustrated, continued to admonish me that the "machine was out of paper" with a tone and attitude. I immediately asked him not to speak to me with an attitude, and he "remarked "I'm not giving you attitude....I'm from the South, and if I gave you attitude, you'd know it!" He then agreed to run my other 3 copies behind the desk, as the self-serve copier had "timed out". I appreciated his offer, thanked him and left. I have used Staples for the last 10 years, and have NEVER been treated so poorly. As it was near closing time (5:35), I'm not sure if I interrupted a job he was trying to complete, he had experienced a bad day, but his Customer Service was totally unacceptable!

The gentleman who does them is very efficient (and he seems to always be working). Today there was a line of 5 or 6 people all doing returns and I still was in and out in no time. Everyone there was doing returns and none of the other employees knew what to do as this guy rocked through it.

I waited for her by the bathrooms when I overheard the tall man with beard and brown hair in the copy area talking into his headpiece saying something like, "they're not people." As my wife came back, we both heard him say, "But they're Jewish." I couldn't tell if he was joking or not, but he was working and it was unbelievably unprofessional, especially in the current climate. We will not be shopping at staples again.
