- SBShanon BattersbySep 8, 20231.0So my Uncle recently passed away in a different state then the rest of the family and his wishes were to come home and be bury in a Veterans cemetery near family. He was cremated and shipped from Texas to Wisconsin via USPS. And when he was delivered he was delivered to the wrong house. Our address was list 2x on the box and we have two sets of house numbers on our home. Instead they delivered his remains to the neighbors house but put it BEHIND the sofa they have on their porch. It took 4 days to find him after he was delivered. 1st we asked why it was not sent registered mail by the company that sent his remains but why its it not required by the USPS to have packages like this be shipped registered mail. This was a person they deserve more respect than this. Their family is already grieving they don't need the extra stress of the lost remains of their loved.
