- PDPaula DentSep 13, 20251.0I am reviewing the Capitol Station USPS location in Madison, WI. Read it and weep. Yesterday I tried to cash a domestic (as opposed to international) USPS money order properly written out to me. I was going to endorse it in the presence of an employee at this location. I had valid ID. But clearly the clueless postal clerk had NEVER SEEN A POSTAL MONEY ORDER IN HIS LIFE and was examining it like it was an artifact from the moon. I showed him where I would be endorsing it on the back but this did not resonate. The clerk said his supervisor was out to lunch and could I return in fifteen minutes. I said no. Then when I bought a sheet of stamps the employee couldn't make change when I handed him a $20. bill. He made up the sixty cent difference out of pocket. I ended up depositing the money order in my bank account. But I never thought I'd encounter a postal clerk who had never seen a postal money order.
