Why do you JAM a large Amazon bag into my mailbox? I had cookies jammed into the mailbox. Outside bag was tore, inside the cookie box was tore open and cookies fell out. I don’t think it’s Amazon. It’s USPS that doesn’t want to take the time drive up my driveway. Delivered on November 8th and opened yesterday.

If you want your passport pictures done and make an appointment, don’t expect to be seen. Came in, said there was no appointment. Confirmation was shown, still rude and said I could stand there until 11am to be “squeezed”.

We purchased a home in Lake Geneva at the end of a private drive. The home was built in 1973 and the previous owners did not have a mail receptacle, so when I inquired about getting a mailbox, we were told we could not get mailed delivered because they do not go down private drives. There are many houses on this drive with mailboxes right up to our driveway. We were told we are not grandfathered in, so we would need to place a mailbox somewhere else. I mainly needed a verified mailing address to receive packages as no one could find us or ship to us without a USPS verified address. I was told I could place a mailbox about a mile away as it was “most convenient” for the mail carrier. Clearly, that won’t work. So we compromised on placing it at the end of the private drive on Lake Shore. After a month of going back and forth between where the mail carrier wanted the mailbox (which couldn’t be done because of utility lines, etc) we FINALLY got a mailbox in. I still cannot get packages! The mailbox is not big enough for some packages and they will not deliver those that wont fit to my house. They SOMETIMES put a notice in the mailbox for me to come pick up the item at the post office. There have been times I have checked the order status and it says “delivered” and yet there is no notice in my mailbox. I’ve called the post office only to find out the item is there, and no one has notified me. I only live in LG part time, so I’m not always able to get to the post office before they return my package. When I tried to talk to them to figure out a solution to this, their only suggestion was that I get a PO Box. I explained that MANY vendors and companies that I deal with will not ship to PO Boxes. They had no other suggestions. I have also found that mail I send TO Lake Geneva from Chicago takes a very long time to reach the recipient. These cities are only 1 ½ hrs apart, and yet letters I’ve mailed have taken 7-10 days to reach the recipient, even when post marked the same day I sent them. The employees I dealt with regarding this were, for the most part, unhelpful and couldn’t be bothered. I thought it was odd that I had so much trouble even simply getting a mailbox in place because it rested on what the mail carrier found most convenient or preferred to make their route easier for them. I thought mail delivery by USPS was a universal obligation service guaranteed by the government? I’ve never had so much trouble with basic mail issues, and I’ve lived ALL OVER the country.

Worst post office I have ever encountered. Mail delivered to neighbors instead of your address, mail put inside of your garage and your left thinking you never received the package until you find it a week later, and a mail carrier that lies about my dogs and the post office manager sends horrible letters backing something that never happened. Never in my life have I come across such poor behavior from a post office.
