I filed a change of address a month before moving, some of my mail has been directed to my new address, but the personal mail from my family members isn't taken into account under my change of address? It is a crime to open mail that isn't directed to that specific person, it shall also be a crime for the carriers to deliver mail to the improper address. What is the point in a change of address if you are only going to pick and choose what gets forwarded to new addresses? I'm enraged that there is no sort of consequence for the mishandling of mail!

The most recent was me receiving a call from a family member who works for the USPS that they sent me a 2-day priority package with tracking that was marked as “failed delivery attempt” and that it would be returned to sender if I didn’t go get it. No note was left in my mailbox or at my home to even tell me that I had something waiting at the post office. Had it not been for her reaching out to tell me about the surprise package, I’d have no idea at all! When I went to the post office to pick it up, the package label said “deliver by Oct 1st” which was 10 days before I received the call. Had it been perishables or a serious necessity, I’d have been more mad.
