- RTRobert TorrensAug 28, 20251.0Stopped by yesterday to purchase a capacitor for my outdoor ac unit. Much to my surprise, I was informed that bc I’m a homeowner, they wound not sell me the $17.00 part due to “liability” concerns of me “blowing up my house”. I cannot recall a time when Ive been treated this poorly, even though I asked for the exact part by name and description, as well as describing the install process. The good news is that on the way home, I remembered a great diy hvac supplier here in Portland that’s about 10 minutes from my home which is about how long it took me to complete restoring the unit to full operation. And, the house is still intact!
