  The Asian lady in this store is cheerful and has great customer service. All the employees do. When my package needs tape, they don't try to get me to buy tape or charge me. They'll tape up where I need it and are always gracious about it. All good employees. It's not that the Pearl Street UPS has bad employees, I don't mean that. But if you need a little extra tape, go to Proctor and get the extra customer service. Pearl won't help you with tape problems.

  Hours show open Sunday from 10-3. Showed up at 1:50 was locked up sign on door shows no hours for Sunday. Google shows hours verified by phone.

  Google says they are open Sundays, but I just stopped by and they had a sign in the window saying they are closed Sundays.

  I come here all the time, I’ve had a box here about three years . No one is stealing my packages in Tacoma because they are safe here . They also make me feel like family , I noticed the best time to come is around 8 am when they open to always avoid lines(: but they are pretty quick overall

  I was visiting Tacoma and needed to ship several items to Texas that had belonged to my mother. I was initially quoted around $150 to have the store pack a few low-value items, which seemed excessive. Instead, I purchased a box and packed everything myself in the store using packing materials I had brought with me. The clerk weighed the package at 6 lbs and charged me $67 for UPS Ground, plus the cost of the box. It still seemed high, but I was rushing to catch a flight and didn’t have time to question it further, so I paid. Before sealing the package, the clerk mentioned that the box looked larger than necessary and said he would take care of it. When the shipment arrived in Texas, I saw that the box had been reduced to roughly half its original size (from 15 x 15 x 15). Out of curiosity, I checked UPS.com and found that UPS Ground shipping between the same addresses was quoted at $34 — about half of what I was charged. I understand that franchise locations may set their own pricing. However, charging based on a larger box size and then reducing the package dimensions, while also charging nearly double the published retail rate, feels misleading and unprofessional. I strongly recommend comparing rates and asking detailed questions before using this location.
