About a week ago the Steilacoom branch of the USPS decided on its own that I don’t live in my house anymore and began to “return to sender” all my incoming mail. The letter carrier placed a green slip in my mailbox directing the “new” residents to fill out the form so that they could begin to receive their mail. This morning (15 May 23) I went to the Post Office to explain the mistake and the desk clerk was condescending and extremely rude, directing me to fill out the new residents’ form. I tried to explain that I wasn’t a new resident, she cut me off and directed me to fill out the new resident’s form. She wouldn’t even listen to me. I was extremely surprised with her reaction to me and my problem because she was falling all over herself for a retired firefighter just back from vacation; picking up his held mail, then I come up to the desk and it’s stink-eye. I just wanted to know why my mail was being “returned to sender” because I haven’t moved and didn’t request any service to do so. I hope my mail delivery gets turned back on, but like they say in the Army “Hope is not a plan”
