Sales staff at Alpha Graphics clearly need extensive training on how to read customer inquiries and communicate effectively. On Friday, I wrote to Anna asking for a realistic update: “Please let me know if the files are good and what is realistically achievable for first delivery on Tuesday 28th.” I clarified that this was for a partial first delivery, with the remainder to follow later. Despite my specific inquiry about the partial Tuesday delivery, Anna responded by unilaterally canceling the project entirely: “As stated before we needed all files and everything by 2pm on Friday to make this work. We can no longer accommodate this project due to the timeline…” This demonstrates a complete lack of care and professionalism. Anna failed to acknowledge or address my specific question about the status of the files or the feasibility of the Tuesday first delivery. Instead, she carelessly defaulted to an outdated communication point regarding the full project timeline and simply shut down the project, wasting my time and potentially jeopardizing my own deadline. I strongly urge management or the owner to implement a rigorous communications manual and provide mandatory customer service training. The sales process should not rely on the emotional state or personal interpretation of an individual employee. Better systems and training are required to ensure representatives handle client communications professionally and focus on solutions, not simply cancellations.
