- HCHal CogburnMay 15, 20242.0We have lived on South 2nd Street for nearly 9 years and up until about 6 months ago enjoyed what I would call "good delivery service". The window for getting mail would typically be about 2 hours, give or take a little, but occasionally would come later than normal. No issue at all as we are all human and "stuff happens". But about 6 months or so ago that all changed. I could never predict when the mail might arrive. Normally that wouldn't be an issue but occasionally we would have something ordered that shouldn't be left in High heat or very cold for extended periods of time. Then of course we would get someone else's mail...sometimes just a letter or two along with our mail but sometimes several letters for them with none for us! Did we not get mail that day or did our mail go to someone else? Delivery times range widely...will it arrive in mid afternoon or late at night? One never knows. A temporary situation where someone is in training or perhaps just filling in for the regular delivery person these variations are understandable. But 6 months of issues is just too much to ignore. Today I received someone else's mail but nothing for us which was unusual since we normally get the local paper on this day. I presumed that our mail was delivered to someone else and that presumption was correct. Our neighbor did receive our mail and was kind enough to bring it to us. After a short discussion he expressed the same issues and frustration that I have been experiencing. I understand staffing nowadays is difficult and I appreciate those letter carriers who are working but quite frankly staffing, traing, and incompetent employees are not my problem. New employees, employees filling in for other folks, or just human error I can understand and am quite tolerant of. But over 6 months of extremely poor service is a management issue and needs to be addressed. My 2 star rating is being generous!
