They take forever to address problems or just dismiss them entirely (especially from elderly patrons). Even people who are very friendly and polite to the postal workers get a rude and sassy attitude from the clerk for no reason. I try to avoid having to go to the counter if I can

It seems to me that if you work in customer service it's your duty to act the part which is helpful and friendly. My tip would be if you dislike your job that much then you should consider retiring...happy holidays!
