I never wrote a complain before but this time was too ridiculous. While I was waiting and briefly answering a phone call for less than one minute (40 seconds), the lady employee stopped me and instructed me not to use my phone. There was no posted sign, notice, or clearly stated policy indicating that phone use was prohibited in the lobby or service area. I found this behavior unnecessary and unprofessional. If there is an official USPS policy regarding phone use, it should be clearly communicated through visible signage or explained politely. Otherwise, customers should not be arbitrarily restricted from briefly answering their phones. I respectfully request that this incident be reviewed and that staff are reminded to communicate policies clearly and treat customers with courtesy and respect. If you don’t want customers to answer their phones, please have a sign so we know. Not everyone understand your personal needs. When I asked if there is a sign or it was just her wanted to be in a quiet enviroment which I respectfully understand. She said she doesnt use her phone so I shouldnt use my phone. What kind of comparision is this?

I read a lot of the 1 star comments before posting my review because I was curious what was so horrible about this place. And wow do you people need to get a grip on reality. Those complaining about the lunch time, one even saying they should add staff to rotate so its not closed for lunch, do you say that about doctors offices or other professions that go to lunch? Everyone deserves and is LEGALLY required to have a lunch break. If you dont like the hours, don't blame the location, call the main office and complain, it's them who set the time. Those complaining that they are asked to leave at 5pm closing time, tell me this, do you leave your job at the end of your shift or do you stick around and continue working without being paid? They have a hard enough job as it is with people yelling at them all day for things out of their control, they have families and a life they'd like to get back to just like you. Victoria, the older lady I see people complaining about, is a good caring woman. Every time she see's me she asks how my mother is doing and we have a nice little chat with smiles and laughter! Would you like to know why I get that treatment? Because I'm kind and understanding of her position, and the struggles of her job. Customer service is a rough job no matter the place, and if you do it long enough, you get tired of people's attitudes and harassments and start giving it back, so I don't blame her for how she treats some of you with the attitudes I'm reading you're giving her. Put yourself in others shoes before you judge! Thank you Victoria for always being so kind to me and my mother, you don't deserve the way you're treated!

I am sure that this facility does its official postal work very well. I am most concerned about the customer serivce and people skills of the staff this facility and the manage of the shpping center demonstrate. Today, 3 days befoe Christams was hardly filled with any cheer. I parked in the no-parking area to drop off my 80 year old husband so he could take a letter and box with a mailing code to be mailed. I stayed in the car. There was no traffic coming so that space was needed. In any event, I could easily move. An unidentified woman hussled and bussled up to my car window holdin her phone -so officious and condescending. She told me to move my car. I had no idea who she was, so I asked if she was police. She identified herself as the manager of the shopping center. Eventually the argument reached the point where she told me I could do my business elsewhere . Since we have been using that post office since 1990 and use several of the stores in the center, I don't think the other stores would appreciate her flippant lack of respect for their customers whose livelihoods depend on our family's business. All she had to do was appropriately, ask me to move my car out of the no parking area. Had she done that it would not have escalated over a relativley minor situation. Maybe the fact that she was so worked up had to do with the fact that she has to say it to so many people. Rather than trying to fix the issue, she thinks her "manager status" gives her permission to anger customers. Eventually I moved my car. I then learned from my husband that she came into the post office and reamed him out also. To make matters worse the postal worker on duty at 1:00 PM chimed in with her. I doubt if the postal worker has any authority concerning the parking situation, but she decided to butt into the situation. There are many reasons people park in the no parking area: the post office box is not on a curb where a patron has access to mail a letter, like at the Annandale post office; there is no parking just for customers needing to go into the post office; the handicapped spaces are used by customers wanting spaces; the new slots are so narrow, even the thinnest of materials can go in them. Responsible managers and persons who respect their patrons would first do a little problem-solving, and there would be no need to huff and puff around the place in her cape. It is 12/22. No holiday spirit at Ravensworth Shopping Center with the Bah Humbug Queen stomping around, charging into the post office to shout at the customers.

I went onto the site today to see holiday hours and saw so many negative reviews. I use the post office rarely, but have noticed the same person is there every time I use this location . I am , now, well aware the office is closed 12:50-2:00 daily , which is lunch for many. Please consider that it is also the lunch hour for the one Postal Service member working—- this person needs and deserves a break as well. Have a little understanding and compassion this holiday season.

Closed 12:50-2 for lunch but doesn’t say that until you get to the inside door. Waste of time.
