Made an appointment to get my children's passports done. Took time off of work and took my kids out of school early, only to show up and be told there was no passport agent there. The guy at the counter just shrugs his shoulders and was no help at all. What is the point in making appointments if no one will be there? And why are you not notified ahead of time that no one will be there? Are we supposed to guess and continue to take time off work/school and hope someone shows up?

My coworker told me about this post office. I usually go to the downtown branch but after listening to one of my coworkers talk about the service they recieved and how fast she was able to get in and out I decided to give it a try. I was blown away. When walked through the doors there were atleast 8 people in front of me. The tall African-American guy behind counter was helping an older couple and talking to someone else about getting a passport, from 15 feet away no less, at the same time. I realised he was the only person in there. I watched this guy handle all those people and then get to me in less than 10 minutes. The guy was lightning fast, took maybe 2 minutes to mail my package and answer a question about forwarding mail. He really knew what he was talking about. I called the number he told me to call and they told me pretty much everything he had already told me. But they took waaaay longer. Again, I was really astounded that one person is able to do all that work so fast and correctly. Even during holidays I kept going in because it's still faster than the post offices. No clue about some of the reviews I read, maybe they was having a bad day or something on those particular times. I've been going there exclusively since October and dont plan on using any other post offices in Roanoke unless its an emergency.

We waited for an hour and a half because the person who makes the passports arrived late and was angry that there were so many people waiting. He said he wasn't going to do them because there were too many people. (That useless person should be removed from there and replaced with someone who actually wants to do the job.)

It took us 45 minutes to scan in 26 packages due to having us wait between other customers. We had trouble with out scheduled pick up due to truck being full. We had to close early because of snow so we took the packages to the post office. Not all the items were priority so we did not use the kiosk plus when you use the kiosk it does not start tracking package until it is scanned officially again. So either a scheduled pick up at our location or standing in line to have our items scanned in 5 items at a time. Then wait to the side so they can scan 7 more items 5 times in total. Was our option. So not happy with the service at this location.
