- PFPrincess FennerJan 5, 20262.0I have generally had a decent experience at this location up until today. Clerk 1 (I was unable to get her actual name) was extremely rude and combative to myself and the elderly woman who was in line behind me. I wanted to mail an item off and purchase stamps. She was upset because I didn’t already have it in an envelope. I explained that it was because it wasn’t a flat piece of paper but rather a small, delicate item and plus I wanted tracking. However, she would not listen to what I was trying to say and still proceeded to give me a pre stamped envelope to prepare and place in the dropbox myself. I was feeling too disrespected and overwhelmed to even try to correct her at that point. I understand this is an extremely busy season for postal workers so I’ll extend her some grace, but this experience was very disheartening.

The lobby was full - so I understand wanting to wrap up by 5 and stopping service - however my pre-paid packages were turned away and the sliding door was closed in my face. All I needed to do was drop them at the counter and I wasn’t even allowed to do that. With the time it took her to come shut the door in my face she could have scanned them in. At this point none of the post offices in Hampton or Newport News are consistently professional or nice. The staff usually at this location are real nice - whoever was staffed today was certainly not especially with it being close to Christmas. I will from now on be going out of my way to Yorktown for professional service and staff.
