I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with this post office, and the issue was entirely due to poor communication and incorrect information from staff. My package was out for delivery but was marked “insufficient address” due to a missing apartment number. I ordered the item through PayPal and their system didn’t send over my apartment info. I attempted to call 15 times over the course of the day and every single call went unanswered. I called the help line who told me they would be able to step in and redirect the item after 24 hours and advised me to attempt pickup at the post office. I went to the post office first thing the next morning, explained the situation clearly, and provided the tracking number. The employee told me the package was still at the office and was likely in the return bin. He said that it would not leave until later, and also stated that return packages are held for up to 10 days. Based on that information, I left my address and contact information and was told I would be contacted later once it was ready for pickup. Seven hours later, tracking showed the package had been sent out to a regional facility in another state. When I returned to the post office, a different employee rudely told me “Well it’s in Greensboro now so I’ve got nothing for you.” To make matters worse, I later learned during my second call with the USPS help line that there was a same day pickup window the previous day that I was never informed about. Had I been given accurate information at any point, I would have taken immediate action. Instead, I was given conflicting and incorrect guidance that resulted in the package being returned unnecessarily. As a result of this situation, I am now dealing with significant delays and additional costs on an international shipment that could have been easily resolved with proper communication. This experience reflects a serious lack of accountability and coordination. Customers rely on accurate information, especially when time sensitive issues are involved and that did not happen.

Mishipped my package I was getting on them all week about it not leaving the building for almost 3 days and then when I come to pick it up they finally decide to ignore me telling them to keep it there and send it back out to Roanoke. All of USPS has become a joke and the only other option is the other joke that is FedEx

I just submitted a stolen package request. You said my daughter's home had no access to deliver what a joke. Single-family home mailbox on the road unobstructed, re-deliver today 🤣 its stagnate no update, the door is 10 ft from mail box. No cars in the road, she watched you drive by. If it doesn't show up, USPS you lose I put 500.00 insurance on it for this reason because of how bad lynchburg PO is. More of a hassle but you have thieves in the system and I'm going to go as high as I can just to prove a point. You messed with a New Yorker and we don't put up with this crap.

Unfortunately, today was a disappointing day. It’s frustrating when people don’t seem to care about their jobs and there are no consequences for poor performance. The sad part is we’re forced to rely on this service, and the one main thing they’re responsible for — picking up the mail — isn’t even getting done. I never thought something so basic would become such an issue.
