The first time I came in, I stood there expecting a receipt, and the young blonde-haired employee told me, “There’s no receipt, you’ll get an email.” I left uneasy, and now sure enough, my Amazon order isn’t showing as returned. Because I didn’t get a receipt from Staples, Amazon can’t verify that they received it, and now I have to go through the hassle of resolving it myself. On my second visit to Staples, the employee immediately gave me a receipt for my return — so clearly it is possible. This is basic training that should be consistent every time. Please drill into your employees that a receipt is necessary.
