I will set the stage for my rating. I am in the middle of an entire home renovation. Given the fact we are in the middle of nowhere 98% of my purchases happen on line. Since it is hard to determine quality, feel and look on line I do a lot of ordering. Usually this is means ordering 3-4 options for something. I will then make a selection and have to return the rest. Typically (75% of the time) when returning an item you are given a choice on return method. This is usually UPS, Fed Ex and USPS. When given the option I always choose the UPS store. This is NOT out of convenience as I am 3 miles from my USPS and 20 miles from the UPS store. But, knowing store owners receive compensation from UPS for handling pre-paid returns or drop-offs. Because it is part of their franchise agreement, which helps drive traffic to the stores and compensates them for processing, storing, and loading the packages. SO in an effort to support local business I go out of my way to select them. Just to put it in perspective in the last six month (during my renovation) I will not put a number to how many packages I have received (ballpark of 3xs returned) given this I have returned 77 packages via this location in the last 6 months. That ends TODAY. Starting today when given the option I will choose USPS, the FedEx and only UPS if that is my last option and all over $2.25 and if I have t o use UPS I will choose the extra time and distance to go to Wytheville. For me it is not about the money it is about the principle, greed and illogical explanations. I have an over sized piece of furniture that I am not keeping (its over 100 pounds). I was not given an option (not that I would have hauled it to town anyway) for shipping I was assigned a over the road carrier (Pilot) which I expected. My printer is malfunctioning so I needed to have the info printed. I was at the UPS store and asked them to print the paperwork to return the item. Mind you to print a black and white copy is around .32 per page. I emailed the document to them to print. Upon checking out I was charged 2.50. When I asked why i was told it was not their shipping code. Ummm okay but all you did was print a 8.5x11 document in B/W. She stated that is the charge for a label. Okay it is not a label. It is not adhesive and printed on a 5x7 piece of paper. It is a 8.5x11 black and white image that has a barcode. Again she tries to tell me its not our shipping label so its 2.50. 1. telling me the same thing again and again does not change the fact it is still a piece of standard paper in black and white that happened to have a bar code. That is not a label. What I just printed at the kiosk is a label. its small, it has adhesive and needs a special printer and paper. My guess has I used the computer and printed it myself i would have been charged for a copy. Not more than 7xs the rate of.a copy. Again for me. this is not about the cost as it is about taking advantage of situations and being greedy. To that end shame on you this "locally" owned business who is screwing over their customers. Going forward you will be my LAST option.

Usually I don't have any problems with UPS. Today she was very rude. If I find other options to take my returns and such back to, I will. I don't know what her problem was and I don't care. There is no excuse to throw your hands up and act like you're disgusted with me

Never going back!!! Can’t provide a customer 8 years niches of tape. Sad business model and customer service.

I arrived at the store in Galax at around 6:30pm Friday 03/29 needing to get an urgent package to Richmond on Monday 04/01. The lady waiting on me, Dawn, was very helpful and accommodating even staying past her quitting time to make sure my package was processed. She explained that the truck had already ran and the most she could guarantee is the package arriving by 8:30am on Tuesday, 04/02. This was acceptable . She was very sweet and I have nothing negative to say about my experience.
