It was a positive experience for us getting passports for 2 kids. We arrived around half hour early for a 2pm appointment. The family ahead of us in the room was having some problems, not going to speculate what the issue was. The clerk was reasonable and calm and told them there is 3:30pm slot the same day they can use. When that family left, the clerk took us 15 minutes early before our 2pm appointment. She could have easily had us wait until our time. We had all the paperwork filled out, brought all required documents and payments ready. The entire process for 2 kids with picture taking took 20 minutes. The clerk (Sita) was friendly and professional. Just remember to arrive early, have all paperwork, documents and payments ready. I understand sometimes you don’t know what is missing and it is stressful to take time off from work and take the kids out during the school day, but our experience that day with that clerk was a good one.

Worst USPS I’ve been to. When I got to the front of the line, the African American lady with the mask gave me the worst attitude. I was dropping off a package and she says in a snarky way oh you could’ve just thrown that in the drop off box. I explained I preferred it scanned in person because I’ve had tracking issues when using the box and she’s like it’s literally all the same and throws my package to the side without scanning it. Then I have to ask for it to be scanned and for a receipt and she’s like okay you should’ve specifically asked for that then. After all that, I clicked on the red frowny face when they asked for the experience survey thing and she scoffed when I did so. I hope not everyone at this location is like this but that was just lame to be honest.

I felt compelled to defend this post office and its employees after seeing the reviews. I mail a lot of cards and packages, so I have spent a lot of time here. I have observed the staff as professionals that focus on the business. I have observed customers that come in upset because they are in a hurry, something has gone wrong with their mail, or maybe they have a problem with the ethnicity of employees… I recommend going to the post office when you are not in a hurry and leading with kindness while you are there conducting business. My experiences have been 100% positive. The employees try to be efficient and fast and may forget to smile, yet are PROFESSIONAL, but I have NEVER had someone be RUDE to me. My most recent experience was that the key to my work mailbox was not working, so I took it in and asked how to get a new one or for them to check the condition of the lock. They said we could leave a note for our mailman and he would replace it, or someone could come out and fix the lock. The woman who helped me shared my concern with her supervisor and her supervisor called my work later to see how she could help. Our mailman gave us a new key and told me that next time we could leave a note in the mailbox for him. Another time, I was mailing gifts in priority boxes, which I didn’t realize was expensive due to how lightweight my items were, as the price of priority is more about mailing heavier things for a cheaper price. The employee went into another room and bought me a plain empty box and said I should use that for cheaper pricing. I appreciated her explaining that to me. Another time I was expecting something by a certain day for a special event. I got a notification that it arrived, but it wasn’t there. I immediately called the post office and explained the situation to them. The employee said they would look into it. The employee called me back, said it had been located and would be delivered within the hour. They did not tell me what happened. I COULD have gotten angry and made a fuss about WHY this happened or HOW it could’ve happened, but I focused on the good that they were rectifying the situation. Lead with kindness and you will receive kindness in return. I ❤️ the Prentice Drive USPS and its employees. I will thank them more often to make up for all the times I didn’t write a positive review when I could have.
