    In today’s market I am making more purchases online than ever. However with that, the need to make a return for a purchase has also increased. The UPS Store located off of Hanbury Rd in Chesapeake, VA is my go to. Not only are the employees there very professional, they are also equally friendly. My last visit there was to make a return of three dresses my wife had tried as she was looking for attire for our daughter’s wedding. The week prior to this visit, we made a return for my youngest daughter for the same reason, however the UPS worker said that they needed to scan each individual dress being returned and had to open our sealed box.. no big deal. She scanned each dress, retaped our box and made sure that our shipping label wasn’t damaged … so in an effort to assist this return, we had not sealed the box and made sure all tags were easily accessible for scanning. Our UPS worker was so grateful for our attention to detail. She thanked us and smiled. I love this UPS Store. Lines move quickly and every employee that works there do their very best to provide outstanding service.

    I just left the store, and the employee James was extremely rude. I do not recommend going here if you value even basic customer service. Here is what happened: I asked James how much a box was, and he responded that the price should be on it. It was not, which is why I asked in the first place. He told me to bring it to him, speaking in a condescending tone. I handed him the box, and when he couldn't find the price either, he yelled across the store to another employee to ask. I told him I wanted to purchase the box and also use it to mail something. I was unable to open the box myself, so he took it and tried to open it for me, but ended up damaging it. I mentioned that it was now damaged, and he replied that he would tape it. He then asked me for my address and the address I was mailing the item to. After telling me the price, I inserted my credit card into the machine. The screen displayed "amount owed: $0.00," and he handed me what I assumed was the receipt. I said thank you, as I was raised to be polite, and started putting my card away. Suddenly, he yelled, "You have to pay for that!" I was confused and embarrassed, especially since other customers were in the store. I had no reason to think I had not paid, since he handed me a receipt without any explanation. The way he raised his voice made it feel like I was being accused of trying to take something without paying. It was an uncomfortable and humiliating experience, and I will never return.
