No matter what the website says about walk-in services, DO NOT GO WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. The employees were friendly, helpful, and downright accommodating. But the website is not controlled by this location so everything is going to be out of date.

Visiting the Burke Post Office during a holiday week is less of an errand and more of a character-building exercise. Despite a line already winding through the lobby, and spilling out the door, the office opened a casual ten minutes late, because apparently time is a suggestion. No explanation, no apology—just the quiet confidence of people who know you have nowhere else to go. Once inside, the line moved at the speed of continental drift. The help was slow, difficult to understand with the mumbling, and delivered with the kind of warmth usually reserved for jury duty. Every interaction felt like an inconvenience to the person being paid to help you. In a bold and innovative move, the post office was also completely out of mailing supplies. Boxes? Envelopes? Tape? A wild choice for a place whose entire purpose is mailing things—especially during a holiday rush. Truly visionary. Then comes the pièce de résistance: the customer feedback screen. While standing directly in front of the clerk, you’re asked to rate your experience via a series of smiley faces. Naturally, everyone presses the green one, not because it’s accurate, but because you’d like your package to actually leave the building and not be sacrificed to the USPS void out of spite. The overall vibe is rude, unapologetic, and oddly menacing, wrapped in fluorescent lighting and government-issued linoleum. If you enjoy long waits, zero supplies, and the thrill of wondering whether honesty will doom your mail forever, this is the post office for you. Five stars for the unintended comedy. One star for literally everything else.

Walked in the other day to send a package and they were awesome! Very friendly, and they helped with all my needs.

The lines can be long, and I’m not sure they have enough staff for the volume of customers that come through, (though that’s on higher up at USPS) but I give the STAFF five stars, because they are lovely, helpful people!
