Without naming individuals, this situation reflects a fundamental misunderstanding between Service Desk and Help Desk functions. These are not interchangeable roles, and evaluating performance under the wrong framework led to an outcome (firing Service Desk Lead) that does not appear justified. The assignment of responsibility in this case is concerning.

I am documenting a concern regarding a recent personnel action that appears to have been influenced by a misalignment between the role as defined and the expectations applied. Specifically, the position in question functioned as a Service Desk, while performance appears to have been evaluated against Help Desk expectations. These are distinct operational models with different scopes, responsibilities, and success criteria.
Based on this misalignment, it appears that performance concerns may have been assessed using an incorrect framework. As a result, accountability may have been assigned in a manner that does not accurately reflect the role’s intended function or the individual’s responsibilities.
This raises concerns regarding the fairness and accuracy of the decision-making process. Clear role definition and alignment of expectations are critical to ensuring equitable evaluation and appropriate personnel actions.
I recommend a review of the role classification, expectations, and evaluation criteria used in this case to ensure they were properly aligned prior to the action taken. This would help ensure consistency, fairness, and adherence to appropriate operational standards moving forward.

I had a very disappointing experience with this staffing company. Communication was extremely poor throughout the process. I was never proactively updated on my application status and had to repeatedly reach out just to get basic information.
What’s most frustrating is that whenever I contacted them for an update, they seemed to have the information available immediately. This shows that updates could have been shared proactively, but weren’t. Candidates should not have to chase recruiters for communication.
I’ve worked with other staffing firms such as Tech Systems and K-Force and have never experienced this level of disengagement. Professional communication and timely updates make a big difference, and unfortunately that was missing here.
